    Will update total each month!!
  • I really think everyone should stop panicking and calm down. Martin is looking into this today and has said he will post back here before 12. Im sure he will sort it all out. Also some ppl who have had the cancellation email have called mycitydeal on the freefone number on their website and have been told it was sent in error and that they will recieve a ticket.
My OH recieved cancellation email but is just gonna wait and see what martin says and if he doesnt get the ticket it wont be the end of the world!
  • 3 out of my 4 were accepted. If I even manage to get one ticket I'll be happy - it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a ticket at the cinema! And if I don't get my money back for the one that was cancelled I'm sure I will cope.....it's only a pound!
  • I also think its been a bit of a scam, like many others i signed up as did my partner just after midnight. Both cards supplied by different banks were accepted, and received an immediate confirmation email. Only to then receive the fob off yesterday morning. I now want my money back and my details removed from their database. They have shown in this incident alone they are incompetent. I recommended the site to a colleague yesterday i will now be advising people to stay away.

I emailed their support email immediately i have still yet to receive a reply.

I'm not bothered about losing a pound, I am however worried about a dubious company having my details which could potentially be misused and/or sold on. Been looking at their fb page again, people have been asking for clarification since last night and none is forthcoming as yet. I'm not impressed.

Same story for me - Just like many others. My husband and I both registered shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning. We each purchased a ticket, and paid on our own card......... Confirmation email received straight away, but later on in the day we both received the 'there has been a problem with taking your payment' email..... It appears the payments on the two cards are pending though....... Obviously no problem taking the money after all!

I emailed their support yesterday. No reply as of yet.

Yes, exactly the same thing happened to me. It looks like there was a problem around 5 past or 10 past midnight which resulted in payments not being taken.
  • I got an email from mycitydeal yesterday saying my transaction for the Cineworld £1 deal had been cancelled due to payment problems. Does anyone know (including Martin the money expert) how to completely unsubscibe your details from the site? I know there is an unsubcribe link at the bottom of mycitydeals emails, but this only unsubscribes you from your areas newsletters.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi folks,

Thanks for your patience on this.

We've been pestering MyCityDeals about this since reading about the problems last night, and they've just this minute confirmed that anyone who received the rejection email and had money debited from their account WILL get the £1 tickets.

They also confirmed that these emails got sent out in error, and that they haven't now overpromised tickets.

Anyone who this affects should receive a follow up message from Mycitydeals within 24 hours, but of course let us know if you don't and we'll keep on it

Of course we're still working on it - and this is a first response, but hopefully it helps.

  • It says to let Martin know of any other glitch. How do I do this? Got error message when tying to register, emailed them but no reply yet.
