Oh stop it, loads of people have had the deal confirmed, and a small amount cancelled. Stop moaning and move on!

Not sure it is a small amount that have been cancelled. Although I received the confirmation email about the ticket I found the cancellation email in my spam folder. So maybe everyone should check their spam/junk folders just in case.

Hi Martin, you might want to point out to Mycitydeals that even though so many people took up the offer many didnt because the terms said the voucher could be used at any cineworld and then you found your local one was sold out. lots of people I know didnt want to take the chance even for the few pound and some of those said they wouldnt use it in the future. Those with payment issues arent the only ones messed about by this deal, its very similar to the free download one of a few weeks ago. Companies who come to us via a recommendation of MSE in the future hopefully will be a little better prepared.

I tried to buy 1 ticket and after I submitted all details including payment details, I was told there was a technical error and I should contact my administrator. I tried it twice but the same thing happened both times.

A big (sarcastic) thank you to everyone out there who ordered more than one ticket at a time.

Can I just say without sarcasm I ordered 4 tickets , but they are for four different people , which I cant see a problem with, each person will use their own ticket just like you would use yours . The site did not let anyone order multiple tickets in one name .

They could have all ordered their tickets seperately at time ,it was just easier paying on one card .

Useless. I signed up and applied for 1 ticket about 15mins after the deal opened so thought I'd bound to get one but no - I have received this email. Seems suspicious as the number of people 'in' on the deal yesterday was fluctuating up and down randomly - it ought to be going up surely so that seemed very odd like it was auto-generated by the website and not actually indicative of the number of people in on the deal.

Cancellation of deal due to payment problems at your mycitydeal

On the 10.03.2010 01:17 you bid on the "Pay £1 to watch ANY film at Cineworld up to the value of £12 - including 3D showings!" mycitydeal. Unfortunately an error occurred during attempt to withdraw the sum of £1. Therefore we have to cancel the following order.

Oh well..I know it's not the card as I use that for all net transactions and double check the details. Well done to those of you that jammed this 'deal'. Grr
  • Both girl friend and I signed up for this deal just after midnight. different cards were used and yet we both had our cards rejected. Obviously this makes us feel like a couple of rubes. I also recommended the deal to a lot of friends, but have not heard back on how they faired.

A little cheesed off and concerned right now.
