Yeah - I did think that too...will have to wait and see!
I paid by paypal - I wonder if this is a common theme? A few people have mentioned over-zealous banking systems? Prehaps those with Paypal have gone through...
Of course...it could be a backhanded way of deleting the offer having realised they sold too many...
Mine was debit card and it went through, probably my bank didn't dare refuse another one so soon after causing chaos a couple of weeks ago...:rotfl:
there does seem to be descrepancies as to why soem have gone through and others haven't...0 -
How do you do it ?:ASexy_fufu:A0

All of my paypal transactions have gone through fine, checked all family memebers 'mycitydeal' accounts and all now showing as completed .
I do think that the failed transactions are to do with overzealous fraud procedures put in place by banks. I dont think it was a scam at all.
But why are they saying they have sent out a e mail but i and a lot of people have not got one yet.0 -
I'm starting to wonder why they have said not to contact the cinemas. Hmmm!!0

Mine was "successful" but NO voucher by email yet. One pound transferred.
They are disorganised .... I may get ruder later...0 -
For my own application for 4 tickets I have "Deal successfull, the vouchercode has been sent by email."
My OH also has one,"Deal successfull, the vouchercode has been sent by email."
No vouchercode yet received.
But an email to her says," Please note that the Voucher will NOT arrive via email, it will arrive in the post 7 working days after the deal closes."0 -
If you read the fine prints on the website it says the voucher would arrive in post within 7 days.So even if it says sent by email it isn't actually sent. Crap software.0

asked for 3 tickets, got 3 emails...all good all good so far!0

Hi folks,
Thanks for the notes above and very glad so many people enjoyed this deal. I've seen there are a few people reporting payment glitches, and though thankfully the number seems to be relatively small considering the popularity of the deal (nearly 200,000 viewed it today so far- thankfully it ran out just after the last weekly email was sent so everyone who gets it had a fair chance)
My City deals is a newish website with big financial backing; its pumping out deals to try and build its site and has already been covered in the national media. It does these deals mostly by buying them and selling them at a discount - loss leaders if you like. So any problems are likely to be a nightmare for it as its all about reputation building so hopefully it'll be easy to sort.
While its been operating successfully for a time, and there's been good feedback on the site. We've not included it in the weekly email simply because of capacity (most of its deals were for 100s and for good deals in the weekly email you need be able to cope with 10,000s).
The Cineworld deal was something my team have been chatting to them about for over a week trying to arrange something good for MoneySavers. Yet frankly the popularity of this suprised even us - its one of the biggest single page views we've ever had.
Even though we tell companies this - they never quite believe the sheer scale of something popular in the email - there are other emails nearly as big (we're 4.2m) but as we're opt-in and they're mainly auto sign up people have chosen to get it so it has a much bigger reaction. And frankly every time that happens there are glitches (we've even crashed banks before with so much traffic!)
As I'm only reading this at 7.30pm there's little I can do now, but my team will check through the issues reported and get answers to some of the question above tomorrow morning and we'll post them here.
Some of the problem does seem to be with people attempting to do multiple transactions - where this specifically was a one per person deal (we will dig into whether thats by email or card number tomorrow)
Also a couple of notes are about past deals with MCD - as far as I know this is the first one it did that was 'open to all not just new registrants' something we pushed for. So those who note they've done a couple of deals in the past and some have been cancelled its likelty to be because of that.
Anyway my main point is to say - I've seen the note above, and these are just provisional thoughts before checking the issue sout properly to say we will look at it asap (which is tomorrow morning) and as always try and ensure people are treated fairly - and if not we'll give 'em hell.
Either one of my team or I will post again by 12 tomorrow
If you've had any problems differing from the ones already posted please leeh me know
