I used my card and my mums card for two separate accounts. Both were successful at first, then I got an e-mail saying there had been a problem with both cards. BS to that.
I wouldn't be surprised if they sold our info on.0 -
I had same story - applied for 3 (for different family members) so setting up 3 accounts with different (genuine!) e-mails. But paid with the same credit card - first one has gone through, the next 2 failed. Strangely they are showing up as a payment in my credit card account though! I don't trust this site, think I'll try & unsubscribe - it seemed too good to be true.0

On My Account on there site it says that the Voucher e mail has been sent but not got anything yet but THEY HAVE all ready take the £3 for 3 Tickets plus another £3 out as well.
I though they were being sent out by post?
Have to say i cant belive that MSE have fallen for this.0 -

I have done four applications with different emails , all showing deal successful , checked bank a/c money not taken yet so rang bank and said ok to take if applied for ,also rang My city deal and enquired if ok to pay for all four on same card he advised yes it would be fine as long as email addresses different .
So watch this space as everything all systems go if they canx mine its not because bank will not authorize transaction
He also mentioned for the deal to be successful they only needed 1000 to apply he confirmed 50,000 have applied so this could also be reason they will not honour deal, as a victim of its own succcess too many virtually free seats .I could be wrong but me thinks maybe this is what has happendedDebt 25,000 /0.00 Paid off before I found this site .Lightbulb moment ,being refused consolidation loan .Took 4 yrs :T
Mortgage 66,000/56,000
Emergency Fund 2.00
March Grocery Challenge 250/420. April 375.00
3 Adults , 1 teenager 1 dog ,toiletries cleaning stuff.:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well both the ones I ordered have gone thru as confirmed - so I suspect some of those having problems might be something to do with this overzealous bank fraud activity.
I've been had by that twice now - firstly a real fraud when fruadsters tried to take a small amount and then a larger amount for mobile airtime from my RBS debit card. RBS were onto it right away and I was impressed.
BUT last week I did a small transaction myself for mobile time and RBS were, again, onto it immediately (within a few mins of the transaction the robot on their fraud line was ringing me up). That would have been blocked if I hadn't been immediately contactable - so I would have lost the purchase.. So I was not quite so impressed - it was a bit overly cautious.
SO.. for this outfit today, who I'd never heard of (and probably neither had the bank) and who wanted just £1 I used an O2 money card (the sort you preload with cash) as I guessed that wouldn't get the same scrutiny (I only keep it topped up with about £10, usually less as I spend it on bits and bobs).
Maybe this is the sort of approach that's needed for these little transactions with unknown websites? Just a thought.
(BTW the o2 card is only for o2 account holders, is administered, I think, by NatWest, and was, when I got one, given away with a free £10 top-up)
Hope this waffle makes sense and helps someone.0 -
I passed this deal on to everyone and they have all got the same email back:-Hi ******* ********,
On the 10.03.2010 09:57 you bid on the "Pay £1 to watch ANY film at Cineworld up to the value of £12 - including 3D showings!" mycitydeal. Unfortunately an error occurred during attempt to withdraw the sum of £1. Therefore we have to cancel the following order.

If you're still interested in the deal you can always try ordering again during the period of validity.

I ordered at around 9am this morning only 12 had been sold in the Sheffield area at that time. I don't have low limit on my card, so will be keeping an eye out for any dodgy going ons.0 -

Ive had 3 out of 4 accepted all different family members with different email addys and all paid for on same card. There seems to be no logic or pattern as to who gets it and who doesnt.0

Well apparantly the bank did allow me to use my card where chip and pin was concerned but had blocked all else which meant that i couldn't order anythng online which i hadn't been informed about so it could have been very difficult..0
