My girlfriend and I purchased a Cineworld ticket each under separate MCD accounts and paid with our own separate credit cards just after midnight when the deal had begun.

We have both received emails today similar to other MSE'ers stating that there has been a problem with taking the payment and so our tickets are cancelled.

I telephoned MCD on the freephone telephone number posted earlier in this thread, explained the situation and provided my email address. The person I spoke to checked my account and told me that the payment had been successfully taken, the email was a glitch and that I would receive my ticket in the next 7 days through the post.

Specifically he said that there seemed to have been a delay between making the payment and the payment actually been taken which may have triggered the email glitch.. transaction done at around 12:07am, payment taken just after 01:00am.

I gave him my girlfriends email address and he checked and said that would be the same too.

We have both checked our credit cards online and it seems that the £1 charge is currently pending.

Hopefully everything is as MCD say, and it is just poor coding on behalf of the website. I notice that the status of my transaction in my MCD account shows some SQL instead of an actual printed status!

Bad luck, especially keeping you waiting so long to tell you as well. :(

The first offer from MSE emails I have ever followed through with, it looked sooooo good! Payment went through fine at the time, although soon received the EXACT same email as other MSE'ers about the £1 not being taken and order cancelled. I'm livid. How can they not attempt the payment again or contact me to ask me to try the payment again?!

I feel scammed. They have my personal details, I have nothing... Seems my first experience with MSE email will be my last.

I tried for Cardiff (I live here), for one ticket only, using my Tesco credit card (always paid off in full every month) that was happily being accepted by Tesco yesterday and Sainsbury's today, but got an email through at 4.30pm saying there had been an error. I registered around 12.10am and inputted all my details. I have read that this email has been erroneously sent out to people so have no idea whether to expect a ticket or not. Was going to be my first trip to the cinema this year, ho hum!
