Well ladies made progress last nite, almost finished the menu details and finally decided on a caterer so all going good… Cake is in the planning we’re having a ‘top table’ style cake with the little people on of us and parents etc and also having a traditional 3 tier affair but having just seen the winter wonderland cake OMG I want one like that too!!! We’re thinking now of ditching the purple and silver theme and going for ice white and silver with it being winter and going for a full on wintery look complete with fake snowballs and icicles what do you think ??? Glad to see everyone’s plans coming together nicely!!

I loved the idea of that cake but the lady who is making ours is charging us hardly anything so i didn't want to ask her for too much! i'm going for a 3 tier cake hopefully in ivory icing and having ribbon round each tier with a longer ribbon in a bow hanging down and i'm going to try and find a sparkly broach to secure it with, then just need to think of something to go on top.

I love the winter wonderland theme for an idea as its not neccesarily implying christmas more the time of year and you could make it look really special.

After i got a price for flowers of £1000  I have been looking for alternatives for centerpieces. I have already got some lily vases to fill so i am considering trying to make my own crystal trees to stand in the vases surely its got to be cheaper than £60 a centerpiece!

We i've taken the leap and gone for the snowflake cake that was posted on here.... Had a good price off our cake maker for that along with a top table novelty cake with me and the OH etc on it and looks brilliant.

Spent last night looking for Crystal Trees... I'm going to give it ago myself first to see what they look like BUT......... Where do I get the trees?! Most on the internet are called Manzania and are from the US but surely there must be somnething UK based but can we find them? Can we heck :( spent all night looking, so thinking now a trip to the woods!!

well i have had quite a productive day today, wedding wise. I found the most gorgeous wedding organiser folder in m&s today which i just had to treat myself too, i will post a picture later on this evening.
I have already bought some white glass lily vases from B&M Bargains for £2 each, so today i bought some mirror plates from the range for £1.29 each and i bought 16 metres of organza today for my mum to make into table runners.
I also have bought mini easels from ikea to paint and use as table name holders. So so far each table has cost me £5 to dress.
I am aiming for £10 a table maximum so i still have £5 a table for something to put in the vases. If i can get something for less then all the better!
We are paying corkage at our venue and providing my own wine so as it is my birthday soon i also bought some wine to have a wine tasting for my birthday with some friends so we can see what we like the best. The from about June onwards i will start buying the wine and storing it to spread the cost.

Glad to see everyone's plans are coming along. Been so busy at work last couple of weeks not done any wedding stuff other than got save the dates. Ended up ordering some freebies through Vistaprint which have come today and they look really nice so pleased with those so going to get them sent out. Break up from work next Thurs for 2 weeks so hoping to get loads done then (???), will be going dress shopping (eeek), invitation making, material buying (runners etc) and ringing up for lots of quotes. Feel like so much to do and time's going so quickly, can;t believe next week we'll be in April!!

Another day, another small update from me. I picked up an easel today from freecycle which i wanted to use to put my table plan on. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is what i ended up with! It's great, a solid beechwood looks brand new.

My mum already has an old frame lying around which i am going to paint gold so all i will need to buy for my table plan is a large piece of card and a few embellishments so i'm aiming to spend no more than a fiver on that.

Above is our save the date cards i made. In the end i decided that to use ribbon on them all would have been too expensive so seen as i had also bought some cheap stick on diamantes and pearls i used these instead, Stupidly forgot to take a picture of the finished one though! I do hope i'm not boring everyone on here with all these posts, Just helps to keep me motivated!

Aww thanks! I am hoping to go to an artificial flower warehouse soon that a friend of the family runs so when i do i will try and find out if they have stuff suitable and let you know. Otherwise all i can think of is going on a few walks and trying to find some fallen tree branches to spray.

Looks like I can join this as we are in the process of moving our wedding to the 22nd December :) I won't have to put up with the bad weather as we are getting married in Sydney!!

But we are planning the usual meal and party once we get home (but thinking of waiting till march time so the weather might be a bit better :)

Made a bit of progress found something that 'may' work for my trees (then again may not!) so have ordered one to see what it is like...

Also been skimming through a website called props 4 shows which has some good wintery items on :o but that would be great if you could let me know if anything catches your eye
