I would go with save the dates, I ended up designing my own via vistaprint and had the magnets – well worth it I found as most people end up losing cards and with a magnet its on the fridge J with December being such a busy month I would recommend sending them out just so people are aware. We’re looking at 70-80 day (which seems to be growing each time me and the OH talk about it!) and 120-130 evening so felt we needed save the dates especially with it being party season! Ebay have some gorgeous Christmas designs and also I would recommend Vistaprint and if you check their special offers and sign up for the newsletter you get so many free too :o

i made my own save the dates will try and post a picture later, i made them dl size to fit into dl envelopes. The hotel provided me with rack cards and room rates which were this size so that was the deciding factor really! i have given these out now and already i have had 4 people say they can't make that day due to having another wedding the following day so people do get booked up quicker than i thought!
This was also the reason for adding the hotel information to the save the dates, as i was panicking that if i left it till september there would be no rooms left for people to book!
I bought a box of card from paper mill for £4.99 and 50 envelopes for £5 plus some packs of stick on diamantes and pearls which were 342 and that was what i used for them.
I think my mil2b is doing the invitations for me and i'm just going to ask for the inserts to be the same as the save the dates and then the outer part whatever style she wants so long as it matches.
I'm then going to try and do all the other stationary, place cards, menus, table numbers etc. with the remaining card i bought so should come out fairly mse i'm hoping.

Well I've designed some Save the Dates, just simple ones either to put in blank magnets or to laminate and put magnetic strip on back. Got loads of card so thought I might as well try it this way. If printing and laminating doesn't work, at least it won't have cost anything! Think I will send them out then, like u say, it's party season and so close to Christmas, other plans will probably have been/soon be made. Thanks all. My invites I intend to make too, in same design as save the dates is they work out ok. Thinking of pocketfold style with RSVP & guest information inserts. Still all in the planning process in my little head though atm!!

well i'm getting excited now because after sending out the save the dates people have started to book hotel rooms for the night of the wedding and for some reason it didn't seem real until that happened! I also realised we only have 8 full months left until december so i think i need to try and split jobs up into a few per month otherwise things will be left until last minute. I'm going to post on here if thats ok so hopefully it will keep me on track!
so far in february i have provisionally booked the registrar, paid the deposit on the venue and provisionally booked a dj. In march so far i bought 2 dresses for me, written a guest list and sent out the save the dates. so i figure if i can get 3 jobs per month done i might have a hope :)

would you say that £300 is enough for wedding rings and if so where would you buy them from?
