awww that is pretty!
my o.h cousin is doing our suits for a cut price as she is manager of a company who do suit hire although not free it is rather cheap
we are very lucky we have got the car, dj , snow machine, cake and photographer free shame about the venue not being so free lol and had i meet some people i have become good friends with before i booked the venue i would have got a large reduction as it is there dads best friend , just typical! lol
have you got your dresses yet or are you waiting to get them? x0 -
i have ended up with these :

above is the first one i bought and is the one that is slightly too small
This is the second one i bought when i panicked about the first being to small, at the moment it fits but if i lose weight it will be too big so i am keeping it in reserve for now i could get it altered to wear in the evening or just sell it on.
i still have to find 2 bridesmaids dresses in a champagne gold colour and a flower girl dress that co ordinates with us all.0 -
My wedding is booked for 12th December...I so can't wait!! We are making our own invitations to cut down on costs, made 10 this weekend so we have 3/4 left..
We cant decide on getting a photographer because at the end of the day how often are you going to look at the photos? most of our guests will end up taking their own pics and then putting them on places like facebook....We just want like a few posed shots of us together, with family, flowergirls etc but think that £300 minimum is quite a lot to pay...0 -

I am exactly the same the only thing i am deliberating over is who will take the photos i want everyone in because i will be relying on close family to take the shots i want. I was thinking about making a list of who i want in what photos and then dividing the list up and speaking to guests before hand and asking them if they would mind trying to get a few of a particular shot and hopefully if they take more than one then we should get a decent set. I think my other half is going to set up a website so that after the day guests can upload their photos to it and we can take copies of the ones we like from there.0 -
I think thats a good idea with the list of photos you want, might have to speak to my OH about that..
what are you doing about a disco? we have had a quote from someone who will bring all his own BOSE equipment and lights etc, 6pm to 12am for £295 - hes knocked £50 off because we are local which is good0 -

at the moment we are having a dj come to the hotel its costing £150 to play from 8pm till midnight. however i'm really trying to cut our budget down at the moment due to changes in mine and my fiances jobs so if it comes to it this will go and we will just have music played off an ipod through the hotels pa system. i am of the opinion that a lot of our guests won't want to dance and i keep thinking that the £150 could be used for so many other things but it's also in my head that the dj will bring lighting and create atmosphere which you don't get from an ipod so i'm still pondering over this one.0 -
yeah we thought about the ipod\iphone in a docking station - it would save a lot of money, but the major bit is the lighting which he can provide...and i think that if we dont have a photographer, then we can use the money on a dj. We are already cutting down on costs by making our own invites, which have saved us a fortune. We are doing our own flower arrangments too, and we have the centrepieces sorted - baubles in the sale in our colour scheme lol0

if i was buying a dj i would requst it for just a party, pay for it all then inform him the week before that it is a wedding that way you dont get conned x0

Well ladies made progress last nite, almost finished the menu details and finally decided on a caterer so all going good… Cake is in the planning we’re having a ‘top table’ style cake with the little people on of us and parents etc and also having a traditional 3 tier affair but having just seen the winter wonderland cake OMG I want one like that too!!! We’re thinking now of ditching the purple and silver theme and going for ice white and silver with it being winter and going for a full on wintery look complete with fake snowballs and icicles what do you think ??? Glad to see everyone’s plans coming together nicely!!4th December 2010 - The day I married my best friend, all that's left to do now is live happily ever after :heartpuls0

sounds very nice (the winter i mean).
i at the moment am not really feeling the whole wedding thing i am rather more excited about the honeymoon, i guess its because i'm not really a winter person i only like it when it snows other wise i hate the cold weather! well i dont hate it but i love the snugglyness of coats, scarf's and open fires neither will be happening at my wedding!
o well need to start thinking positive or it wont happen.0
