Oooh, it's all very exciting - well done jidi! I think £300 is plenty for wedding rings. I'm hoping to get two simple white gold bands for under that (eeekk??!!), would like platinum but dont think our budget will stretch! I'll join you binkyboo, though not got as far yet! Venue & registrar booked, notice given, deposit on venue paid and had registrar ceremony docs through today with ceremony options, so got very excited!! Bridesmaid dress chosen though not yet bought. Style of my dress chosen but not yet sorted, going to make sure I have a back up in case no time to make dress. What's the latest you think I can leave it before ordering for definite? Cake is going to be made by relative - need to "book" time with them to go through ideas and show designs. Need to sort DJ, should get looking and pricing I suppose and same for flowers, to get quotes although I'm very undecided between real and artificial and I want a really simple bouquet of calla lilies (picasso ones with the deep purple tinge) so I think if I can get hold of the flowers my mum and I could make up the two bouquets - mine and bridemaid's. How's it all shaping up for the rest of you?

Sazzyb - we got talking to a jeweller that we met at a wedding show we went to, and they had some offer vouchers that they were giving away, namely buy one ring, get one half price. Another jeweller was offering 15% off wedding rings too. Maybe worth keeping an eye out if you go to any wedding shows!

i got my braidsmaids dresses through yesterday wasn't expecting much as they were from ebay and were only £10 but recieved them and they are lovely and exactly what i wanted.

they were meant to be £20 but i realised the seller had two shops on ebay and on her other shop the dresses were much cheaper so i cancelled my first order and went with the second ones which were much cheaper.

the picture doesn't do them justice at all http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390133074442&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT the material isn't as ugly as that and the little flower thing is much prettier and the hanging down bits look much nicer i'm really happy :)

    Hi Everyone

Started a seriuos look for flowergirl dresses online yesterday but cant seen to make my mind up. theres a few shops in the town centre so might have a look on saturday so i can see what i definatley do and dont like.

Upto now, the flights are booked and paid and hotel will be booked at the weekend. The football stadium has confirmed the date we want for the party when we get back is free so they sent the contract out yesterday so we can have a read through. They were the three main things i wanted to get sorted out as early as possible.

Really, really want to sort my dress but think im gonna leave it a little longer as im on slimming world and want ot shift a few more pounds x

well guys my wedding diet starts today, i'm just trying to eat sensibly and exercise more, so its cereal for breakfast, soup for lunch and a sensible dinner with some work on the exercise bike and my davina dvds each day if i can find the time. I have already got two dresses but my favourite needs slimming into so i am going to try and lose 7lbs then try it on and see how it looks and see from there how much more i need to lose.
This weekend planning wise i haven't done too much, had a look at my budget trying to put some estimates down for things like table decor, then i can go out and find some actual prices. sorted out my transport to the hotel, an old school friends mum has offered me a horse and carriage for free - i was amazed and so grateflul! she also said her friend makes wedding cakes so they are going to give me a price to compare to the m&s version i was planning on. I have also been thinking about a slight snowflake theme for the cake as it has been used on the stationary so far. Problem i have is i have an ivory dress and ivory stationary. Not sure whether the hotel provides white or ivory tablecloths or napkins? what do you guys think should i go for a white cake or an ivory one? would snoflakes go with ivory??

i would go with a white cake if that was me :)

7lbs should be really easy to lose if you stick to healthy eating and exercise.

as you know i'm doing slimming world and have lost 11lbs in 4 weeks but this week i'm kinda stuck! i have only lost a 1lb 1/2 i need to lose another 1lb 1/2 by wednesday but made tomato and pepper soup last night as well as pea and ham soup and that will be my dinner for the next 2 nights along with exercise :) x

I know i can lose the weight, it's keeping it off that's my trouble!

I think you are right about the white cake but i have seen this one and i can't quite get it out of my head

I'm waiting for a price still so once i know if its in my budget to have a cake made then i will have to decide, its nice to have some other opinions though, thanks.

speaking of budgets i guessed a price for suit hire at the weekend while i was doing mine and then i asked a friend of the family who is attending the wedding how much suit hire was because i forgot she did it for a living! she has since offered to do our suits for free, which is amazing.
Has anyone else been overwhelmed with how kind peoples contributions are when they know you are getting married?! my sil2b is doing our wedding favours, mil2b is doing our invites, i am trying to find little jobs for other people who have asked what they can do to help out whilst at the same time leaving myself some things to do!
