  • Had a very weddingy weekend which was lovely. My OH has been working lots of hours lately and had no time to talk about the wedding so it was nice to finally do something together towards it!
On friday we went for a tasting at our venue, we couldn't have exactly what we are having on the day because they have a set menu changed daily in their restaurant so we just got to go and have a free of charge meal and the food and service was fantastic!
On saturday we went for a meeting with the management to finalise all our details for the day so another big event! I was looking forward to this but we didn't meet with the guy we saw originally and I just didn't get the same vibe from this new guy which dampened my excitement a bit. Still we planned out our order of the day, our menu, hotel room bookings for guests and got to see the venue room again which was nice.
I have decided to go in one day when its quiet and use the room to set up a table with my centerpieces and other bits and then photograph it once i'm happy. Then before the day I can make up a box for each table with all the bits in and a photo of the layout to help them with setting it up after the ceremony.
We have to pay our final balance to the registrar by the end of this month which means we also need to choose our vows, readings and music! Must get OH to spare an hour to go through this with me though i think nerves will make him choose the vows with as few words to speak as possible!
I'm also thinking about handmaking crackers for everyone on top of the centerpieces and buttonholes I still have to make. I just got a christmas craft book off freecycle and I think it's going to keep me very busy making little bits and pieces to dot around the venue room I Must be MAD!

I have 8 weeks and 3 days to go, where has all the time gone! I feel like I am starting to panic that nothing is done and getting a bit silly with money so I think I need reigning in - HELP!

Aww glad you find it helpful, I think i'm the only person that still posts in here!
  • Well even if you are im finding it helpful!
Thats one of the things I was worrying about - them setting up the tables as I had imagined. When I tell my mum that she just mutters about me being a 'Monica' or a 'Bridezilla'. Im glad you posted that as its solves the problem :-) x

Yes me too I keep having dreams that everyone is having their photos taken after the ceremony and I'm in the room with the hotel staff helping them set up the tables because they don't know how I want it! Deep down I know that on the day I will be too happy to care if its not quite right but at least if i do as much as I can beforehand to ensure they know what I want I can be satisfied I have done enough :)

My Invites went out throughout August with a rsvp deadline of 1st October. I am still waiting on about 20 people to reply and my OH keeps finding other people to invite so our numbers are growing! Buttonholes I haven't really thought about yet.
I have my centerpiece vases in front of me as we speak ready for me to do my flower arrangements. I was planning on arranging them and securing the stems with elastic bands so everything stays in the right position and then storing them in the vases with bags over the top to keep the dust off!
Music wise we had to make our choices on our forms for the registrar which i handed in on friday. We chose a Frank Sinatra compilation for the guests arrival, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol for my arrival, Times like these ( acoustic) by the foo fighters for signing the register and You're all I have by Snow Patrol for us to exit as Man and Wife!
  • i'm still here just a bit bored of all the planning now :( got 71 days to go! but feels like forever!

just waiting for everything at the moment.

my bouquets have been posted, my dress is being made, venue has to be paid yet, as does the church, i have no maid of honour or bestman ( our choice but hey) , still have to order the flowergirls dresses but no one is giving me sizes! grrr

can you tell i'm stressed?! x
  • I think it all does start to get to you after a while, when I start feeling like that I have just spent a couple of weeks doing other things and when you go back to wedding planning the sparkle comes back a bit!
