i guess because i am super close with my mum and her being one of my best friends i kind of begrudge having to split up my happy family for my husbands fathers problem grrr

45 days to go for me and OH I want to get excited about it but our money troubles are on my mind and I keep worrying that although I have kept it as cheap as I can but still having everything we want, that I am wasting money somewhere that could be better used for something else. At the moment I almost feel guilty about the fact we are getting married!

I have only just decided to go ahead an ask someone to do our photography he made the offer to us in august and we have only just decided we can afford it so hope he is still available!
Our venue needs 85% of the final bill 21 days before but I haven't even had an invoice from them yet even though I requested it a month ago. i think they will only invoice us for 85% of the food as we are having corkage for all the drink and they won't know how many bottles we get through until after the day so I presume we pay the balance the day after.
My cake is nearly finished haven't seen it yet but been told it looks lovely so that's exciting
My dress is with a seamstress and I haven't been able to get hold of her this week yet so slightly panicking that she has shut up shop and run off with my dress!
My stationery is pretty much done, Table plan I have abandoned because I'm still not sure who is coming and who isn't!
and I still need to finish buying sweets for the buffet, make buttonholes and possibly remake my bouquet as I am not happy with it
I think this could be a stressful month for me!

oh i'm sure it will work out all ok

we have scrapped the sweetie table and am having candy floss and toffee apples

oh and my dress is at the post office ekkk!! yaheee! super excited! super super excited! i can shoe shop now won't be able to try it on til tomorrow though because my dad is in bed so they will have to collect it for me.

my venue is totally paid off now just got to pay

*photographer - 500 ( its meant to be 200 but i'm buying a camera of her for 300! )
* chair covers - 100
* candy floss and toffee apples - 65
*suits - 200
*shoes - 100 for all 3 of us
* bridesmaids shoes and wraps - 100
*rings - 100
*hair - 40

so still to pay is 1500! ouch! but i can do it so its ok!

A bit late in the day but can I join We only decided on 20/10/2010 that we are getting married on 22nd December, think this is the same day as Sazzyb ?

Yes it is!! Just worked it out...exactly 50 days!

Getting to stage where most things are done/paid for but still feel all the little things must be done! Sat on Saturday morning & stuffed crackers (our version of favours!). Sat Sunday morning and put tea lights in holders, but at least it feels like another job (albeit small) done.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't such a list-writer; I write lists, rewrite lists, write lists to remind me to do lists.....driving myself insane in the process!!

How are your plans coming on then ticklepenny in the time you've barely had so far??!!!

I'm a list writer too and even though my list is getting smaller I still feel like nothing is done! I think it is because all the wedding stuff is packed up and hidden away upstairs and because I can't see if I don't feel like it's finished. I think I need a day of going through everything and making a new list of things I am 100% happy are ready.
I have got a bedroom full of alcohol, sweets, dresses, vases, flowers, and stationary, I can't wait to get it all to the venue and tidy the room!

I am bumping this up to the first page seen as I managed to lose the thread!
Today I get to pick my dress up, and try it on for the final time before the big day!
On another note I finally got some redundancy pay after losing my job in june, but it was no where near the amount I thought I would get so I will have to get on the phone to sort that out. On the plus side I can pay for the dj and photographer with it so that is 2 things I can take off the worry list!
