  • thanks for the cracker info but I think I have now run out of time to make much more :( 11 days to go for me now. Still not got any music onto cd's and still got to buy dd tights and jewellery but pretty much everything else is done. This will I will be boxing up my table bits ready to go to the hotel and then hopefully next week should be fairly relaxing. The nerves are setting in now though keep panicking i'm going to trip up the aisle!

I'm also now starting to panic that it will snow and no one will be able to get to us! Most of our guests are driving from at least an hour away some more :(

  • I have just realised that my wedding ring doesn't fit me anymore so not sure what to do about that! It's the same size as my engagement ring and it fit when I bought it about 6 months ago but now although my engagement ring still fits i can't get the wedding band on!
Any ideas? Can't really afford to buy a new full price ring :(

Is the gold thick enough so you can get it stretched?? Not cos you're hands are hot? Sounds daft but my engagement ring used to be like that first thing in morning I was always red hot and it was too tight, soon as my temperature came down it was fine.

Binky...when you say it doesn't fit by how much doesn't it fit...wont go over the knuckle or just a bit tight?
Is it patterned in any way or plain?
Most rings have a certain amount of give in them and can be resized up or down one or two sizes easily so as long as its a plain band you should be able to get it done easily at a jewellers.
Did you order the right size...you can double check this by taking the ring to any jeweller who will be able to tell you the size..your fingers will change slightly and sometimes rings feel tighter or looser depending if it is hot or not but if you have ordered the same size as your engagement ring it should fit...if you do need to get it resized it should be a simple and not too expensive thing for a jeweller to do..dont worry

it's a plain d shaped ring my engagement ring is a k and this was the same size. I have had it stretched at a jewellers as much as they can do it without sending it away and it still doesn't fit well enough. I can get it over my knuckle with a bit of a push but it is very tight and i struggle to pull it off again. As it is it is too uncomfortable to wear and i'm not sure I jeweller could send it off and get it back for me by next friday? perhaps i've got water retention or something?

If I were you I would phone the jewellers to find out how long it will take if they send it away for alteration. The other option you may have is to use an independant jeweller who does repairs onsite...it is quite a simple thing to match in a piece of gold and shouldnt take a week to do if it is done on the premises..cant give you an estimate on price as unsure how much gold would be needed but its a better option than buying a new ring....and once it is done...on the type of ring you have...you wont see the join!
