do you know what your doing yet?
im having a civil ceremony at the venue(not decided which one yet though!)
a breakfast for close friends and family then a hog roast in the evening with a disco for everyone elseI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Not all decided but we have sort of made some decisions.
we have provisionally booked a church and the a hotel for the wedding breakfast and reception. Taking my dad there this weekend - hopefully he will approve as he is giving a lot of ££ toward it. Its not where he lives which is the bug bear with him (as thats where I grew up) But I love the place we have held!
I LOVE the idea of a hog roast but some places we asked said it was expensive - others said cheap! x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

im aiming for about £13 a head for the hog roast for 140 people, the venues ive seen and like are in this price range for a bap and a salad
i think it largely depends on the venue/caterer as to what is charged
anymore than this price and i think itd be too pricey and id have a buffetI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Mrs Moore to Be - hope your dad likes the venue as much as you do! I think we are going to have everything in one place and a civil ceremony but nothing is decided yet
Hoping for either November this year (eek) or March next year really depending on what availbility the final venue has!

Thanks bubbles and louba, I can't really plan anything for the wedding as I don't know where we will be, I've got 3 house viewings tomorrow, because we've been in pubs for a while the furniture is for big rooms, 4 piece suite, farmhouse style kitchen table, so got to find somewhere that will fit furniture that doesn't mind the dog and can understand that whilst we're not working we don't have any need to claim housing benefits, not yet anyway. And we go away on 23rd.
The estate agent has sorted us with a short term let, OH has been aplying for jobs, last time we were between contracts we went away and came back to 4 or 5 job offers so I'm not too bothered about the job thing. I just don't particulary want to get married in a hotel, some of them sound so unflexible and my control freakiness couldn't handle that lol
Sorry for moaning, I don't have many close friends due to moving about so much, everyone is really concerned about where we'll live and seeing what space they have for us but I'm as concerned about the wedding, we moved 6 times last year, at the start of the year I'd never have thought I'd end the year where we did!
How do you plan a wedding like that?0 -
Wow Lexxi, I though I'd taken on alot with four moves in two years - five if you count a short period in my fiance's flat after I rented my flat and before we got the keys to our own place. I think with 6 in a year I'd be going crazy, hopefully this year is a bit more settled for you.
Friends of ours hired a marquee and put it in a relative's huge garden - they provided some alcohol but asked everyone to bring some too. There was no pressure to leave (one guest even camped in the garden in a tent the night after the reception!!), no sulky bar staff and a very happy bride and groom - although I think it was an awful lot of work. Unfortunately we don't know anyone with a garden big enough, so I think we're back to looking for a hotel or restaurant which can be a little flexible - I also have some control freak tendancies.........but I try to keep them hidden from my other halfMortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. We've gone for the 'cute' factor. Sindy and her boyfriend Paul from the 1960's - our friend photoshopped it to look more like we do!0 -
