The way that our restaurant tables are set up removes the need for a top table, its just going to be me and my OH on the round table in the middle, then the rest of our families on the two long tables.

I don't know whether to do a seating plan or not, there's only 30 of us and I don't really see the need!

it wont cause cost issues as their dresses will be from the high st which are cheap and theyl be able to wear again

another issue was that again when we got engaged my best friend at the time wanted to be bridesmaid too which i wanted aswell but over the years we dont see each other as much
now were planning it she still wants to be bridesmiad but cos of the sisters, if i had her aswell id be having six with the matron of honour which just seems abit ridiculous for my wedding lol

When I got engaged, I asked my sister and my best friend to be bridesmaids. I was talking about wedding pland with my best friend last month and she asked me if I'd decided who to have as bridesmaid. She'd completely forgotten that I'd asked her!!!

She's not getting a say in her dress anyway for two reasons. Firstly, when she chose the dress I wore for her wedding she didn't give any consideration to comfort. Yes, it was pretty but bl00dy uncomfortable once I'd eaten a three course meal! Secondly, I was out with her last week looking for an outfit for her to wear to her dad's wedding. She has some decidedly dodgy tastes in clothes!

Why not have a "sweetheart" table of just you & OH?

Or at my BF's wedding last year, she had her & hubby, his children & her son & the grandchildren. The bride & groom's mums were with other family.

Bridesmaids are the only thing I have sorted out so far (apart from wedding ceremony and venue) and thankfully it wasn't too much hassle. We've got 4 sisters between us (me 3 OH 1), two of my sisters have agreed to be BM and my other sister said she didn't want to be but I'm going to have her daughter (my niece) as flowergirl. So add on OH sister that's 3 BM and a flower girl.

Not bothering asking any friends as it would be too much of a nightmare and to be honest I can't say that any of them would really be BM material, I don't have any best friends.

I quite liked this idea, on the other hand my mum was dismayed :rotfl:

Thankfully we are having a top table as I do want my nearest and dearest close.

i do like this idea but im not sure. The problem is ofcourse i want my mum dad and sister there as we are quite close but that wouldnt be fair on oh. but if i do the proper thing with my grandparents then id have 6 and oh would have 4 possibly 2 not very even. plus my grandparents dont get on! arg dont wanna think about it its ages away yet. Im supposed to be doing an assignment.....

im only having my sister as a bridesmaid and ohs cousin as a flowergirl (if her mum agrees) OH wanted about 4/5 best men which wasnt practical so having just my sister means he will just have his cousin and the rest can do it in spirit

You're kinda on show all day as it is, at least with other people on the top table, you're not so conspicous.!

hmm hadnt thought about that - realistically well end up having on to please people i suppose we could put the best man next to oh then his mum so shes be 2 away from me lol

Im not having a top table as there is only 20 (ish) people for the wedding breakfast - we will all sit around one table!
Im also not having bridesmaids - i have no sisters and only 2 best mates coming - i can't afford dresses/pressies etc.
Tried out a hair style at the weekend - i think i am going curly!
Regarding wedding dresses i had my heart set on a halter neck dress (because it will show off my assets!) but when i went dress shopping i tried on a strapless dress with burgandy in it (D'zage D9941) and fell in love!
Quite concious about my shoulders as i have stretch marks on them - does anyone know a way of covering them up on the day - bearing in mind i do not want a shrug as it is in August!

What flowers are you having? Silk or real? I suffer from hayfever so was thinking silk but then i am not sure if it is too expensive!
