Don't you hate it when people don't answer their phones or emails? We're trying to book our mini-moon for immediately after the wedding but the property owners aren't answering their phones. I've been trying every half hour since about 10.30 this morning..... GRRRR!!!!!!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

A certain Linda is anything but expensive. I can attest to her reasonable prices for bespoke items:D

awww i hope you get them have you def got the right number?
im looking for a bit of advice guys im going to look at dresses of friday (its apparently the new season of dresses and 20% of if you buy which i wont be as its way too early ) but im a size 18 and not very comfortable in my own skin and im worried about trying stuff on. When people say they go in with you is it like they hold out the dress and you step in or what? im very nervous about anyone seeing me in my underware.
i had lost half a stone but exam week was last week and im baisically back at square 1. Thanks for any advice xx0 -
MD, I wouldn't worry, the girls are so professional that even standing in my manky old underwear (wasn't planning to try anything on) with my pale, scrawny body on show they were nothing but lovely and helped me in into the dress and managed to make it look lovely even with the four bulldog clips holding it on LOL:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

I'm really only looking for inspiration because I would really like Linda to make my dress and OH agreed last night that to have a one in a billion dress, made to fit just me and no one else, and that he would never in a million years allow me to sell it. The last statement has talked me round. I was trying to save a few pennies but OH said that my dress isn't worth saving a few quid on.
:-)
Look, bespoke doesn't always have to scream expensive. I can hand on heart say I haven't to date made anything in pure silk that hasn't pipped the £600 mark. You have to look at many designers and their price tags and know that if they have premesis and staff that will reflect in the price. They have overheads and have to pass the costs over somewhere.
Then there are folk like me who work at home so have very little overheads. (ok, electricity but that's Jeremy Kyle's fault when I can tolerate him!)
The mag feature I was in caused interest to one of my clients. She said the mere mention of bespoke and knew this was going to blow her budget. She wants 3x vintage inspired bridesmaids gowns. After a few e mails, she said she nearly fell off her chair when I came in with a price. So, I was comissioned.
I love my job. I get up on a morning and know I am being paid for something I adore. I earn a bit but I'm certainly not out to extorte because the tag says wedding. There are loads of people out there like me, you gotta dig a bit.
You can go offshore if you like, but in my experience if you find a good dressmaker with a passion for her work, someone who is concientious about the craft, it'll blow the socks off anything you get made abroad. And, you'll have a much better product in the long run.

What you have is a voluptuous figure and with the right gown, will show your curves beautifully. You go and have a blast. xx0 -

I know the right dress will look good but im fed up with my size and hunting for things in the high street. Im just not a very girly girl and not sure what to expect from the staff. They were very nice when i booked it and know they will have seen it all before im just very um shy i suppose0 -

God, don't be shy!! I'd proper kill to have curves like you! (tried to find a jealous smillie here!!) The dresses will nip in your waist whilst showing off your curves to full effect!! Honestly! In my dress I look a little 'rubbish' cos I don't fill it properly:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

The important thing here is to undertake the weight loss plan because you want too (being unhappy with your shape) and NOT because you may feel intimidated. trying to put this in a good way, the sales staff are trained to know what suits you. However, what may suit you now will still suit you when the weight is lost, BUT something you thought may look hideous, will look fab once the weight is gone. Don't buy in haste when you plan to lose weight. xx0 -
Definitely calling the right number. Giving up for tonight and going to try again tomorrow.
I'm also dress shopping next week and am dreading it for slightly different reasons... Bad experience previouslyDon't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
