It's £43.50 for the fees and that includes a marriage certificate but I may have my wires crossed. If I give the link can someone help me out?

    http://www.bradford.gov.uk/bmdc/information_and_communication/information_management/register_office/certificate_and_ceremony_fees/

I probably have got it wrong. Looking again, it's £10 provisional booking fee, £33.50 for each notice of marriage and £43.50 for the ceremony! That's a little under £110. I can live with that though :-)

The dress I have been offered needs a lot of work to get it right for me so am still looking around. OH hates this one but I think it's stunning!

Opinions needed. OH says it's brown. He's insane!!!! And blind!!
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

Me too, I think the dress is gorge! And resonably priced.

So excited today, officially booked our wedding venue and the place where we are getting married, I know it seems ages off but I feel so much better knowing it's all now booked in and official.

Talking about registry office costs I've found these vary, our local one will marry you for £40 during the week or £150 on a Saturday, plus the normal costs admin fees, certificates and notice.
    I :heart2: saving money

Bubbles, OH is looking because I've told him what I want and he's trying his hardest to disagree with me. I'm really only looking for inspiration because I would really like Linda to make my dress and OH agreed last night that to have a one in a billion dress, made to fit just me and no one else, and that he would never in a million years allow me to sell it. The last statement has talked me round. I was trying to save a few pennies but OH said that my dress isn't worth saving a few quid on. It's the first time I've known him to say anything nice and positive about things really. He's also been looking for wedding rings. He thinks I'm being a bit previous because he hasn't got my engagement ring yet but what he's forgetting is that he has a lovely little car sat on his parents drive that he hasn't touched for 2 years as he has a company car. He is going to sell it whether he likes it or not. I'm letting him keep his motorbike, which he also hasn't touched in over 2 years. Some men, eh? hasn't got a clue!!

I listen to him too often. He's convinced that we can't afford £2k before next August (2011). He's going to get a shock because I've already got half of the money for my dress, am bidding on some shoes right now, my tiara arrives tomorrow. There's enough money in my savings account for the registry office fees (going to ring them now actually, thanks girls :-) I've got my eye on a veil and some hotfix crystals, am shopping around for some nice fake flowers, the cake is a doddle (have got so many ideas but am confident I can do that myself). That's my outfit sorted and the registry office paid for, as well as the cake and the flowers I'm sure my horticulture tutor will help me with!

He's only agreed to let me get on with things because I showed him some of your posts last night, mainly the ones who are planning their weddings for 2012. Now he knows it takes some organising, he's letting me play while he sits playing World Of Warcraft.

I've got to organise things now because if things don't go according to plan, I'll have time to get them perfect before the big day. I can't leave things to the last minute, I'll end up making myself ill!!

ETA Have just called the registry office. The total is £110. Thanks for the advice girls. :-)

Oooo, cooking on gas now :-)

lol screamer you are organised arent you? :)
tell him to save the clubcard vouchers and turn them into deals, you can then buy wedding rings from goldsmiths if you want which will leave you with the car and bike money to spend on your dress mwahaha ;)

I've looked at Goldsmiths and I don't really like any of the rings. I know, I'm a bit fussy!!

Someone has given me some wedding invitations but they don't match the colour scheme I'm aiming for? In everyone else's opinion, does this really matter? I'm aiming for cream and red with silver jewellery and tiara (hair slides for the bridesmaids) but the invitations are silver and lilac.

    I think I'm a Bridezilla lol!

Anyone else made any more plans, and Raspa, anything to update us on about your venue?
