Floss, it's not that we can't agree as such, it's just he thinks that a wedding in this country would cost well over £10k but we know going abroad would cost half that. I'm not against going abroad but he's convinced that we can't afford to get married over here. That's all it boils down to...money!! Either way, we've got a couple of years to think about it so we'll get it sorted eventually!!

Best not tell my OH that, I've made him stick to our budget of £3500 (although we have gone slightly over now looking at £3750 cos we had not budgeted for the registrar) That is sit down three course meal for 30 plus drinks, evening do for 100 more with buffet and disco!! :D
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

Floss, well said :-) We are on the same wavelength!!

I've been to see the bridal set I liked today. It's hideous in the flesh!! OH has suggested that I bookmark a few rings I like (which I have) so that he can choose one and surprise me at the same time. Sorry, I've seriously hijacked this thread. I really want to know about everybody's plans and pictures if possible. Not for inspiration, but to coo over you all as if you are newborn babies :-)
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

For rings, take a look at Diamond Heaven - my engagement ring is from ther (in white gold ;) ) and it is seriously lovely :D

Check out my dress on the petticoat thread too :D

im the same i wanna know everything too, and i may steal your ideas if theyr mse lol xx
we are having a civil ceremony(when i know where youll know but hopefully a stately home type place!) on 29/12/2012 as early in the day as poss to get my moneys worth!
its 68 guests(family/close friends) for the ceremony/breakfast(cheapest tarrifs) and 140 in the evening which will be a hog roast if i can get it cheaper than the buffet at the venue
ill , with frannys help:o:), be getting my dress at the cheapest price as our budget for the wedding will be £8000
im scouring the internet for wedding sites where i can get ideas to save money
my friends mum will do my invites at cost price+ a bottle of wine lol
and hopefully my sis can get me a photog from her A level college course
the bridesmaids dresses will be cocktail style and as cheap but not tacky as poss!
ive bought my shoes already and locked em up so i dont keep looking at them and get bored! theyr similar to these with a chunkier and shorter heel but mine only cost £8 in the sale:D
i probably wont have centre pieces as im hoping the venue will be pretty enough but if i do i will get something cheap(dunelms looking promising, might get my bouquet from there) which i can reuse in the home after so i dont have to give them away lol
we have opened a wedding ISA and will change it 2moro to hopefully a 3.5% one, our wedding fund will go into this
errr anything else youd like to know? lol xx
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

It's here :T They despatched it last week and it arrived the day after - I think! I'm useless at time differences :o It's the most beautiful wonderful dress in the world :D In my opinion obviously. :D I do understand that there is only one perfect wedding dress, and every bride has it!

For those that are interested, it came from Milly and apart from them taking FOREVER to make it is really good as far as I know. (No experience of wedding dress qualities, but this looks well made and not cheap, IYKWIM) If you are thinking of going down this route be aware and add extra time for ordering from them. I ordered at the end of October.

I'm getting stressy with venue hunting already. We have to keep it as cheap as possible but I don't want to get married in a church - it doesn't feel right at all. There's nothing around :(

Lol, I only want to get married in a church and I'm a little stuck, we don't want to get married where we grew up but I'm not sure whether we willl be in a place for 6 months prior to the wedding! Had to just explain very slowly to OH the laws surrounding getting married in a church. Might do some digging and look in to where my grandparents got married.
Gemmzie, the link on the previous page was good for finding licenced venues, I think the local council has a list too

I'm soooooo angry & upset - in the middle of the preparation season BHS have decided to discontinue the one bridesmaid dress I liked! No idea what to do as I can't find anything similar anywhere
