New York sounds fantastic! Me and the OH had been talking about going away to get married but I think we are just going to settle ourselves and get married at home although im changing my mind about everything else every 5 minutes so don't see why that should be any different! have looked at couple of local hotels over the weekend so think we are pretty sure about the venue need to arrange a meeting with the priest which im really nervous about we don't attend mass very often but both sets of parents do so hope that'll help us out a bit lol0

Screamer Why not look at platinum?
Also, look at Orocco Pier - it's in Scotland and you can marrry on their pier - not quite beach, but no prickly heat!0 -
No offence to any Scots out there but I really really hate Scotland. :-)
Bubbles, the ring your fella likes is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! Very different. Not good for a girl, but it is still really nice. I love the Tiffany ring too but I'm biased, I love Tiffany!
This is the ring/s I like, OH hates them

I give up. Besides he said we can't get engaged now, I've got a cat!! Dammit!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
Maybe you need to cool down a bit and say "OK, you choose". But you will have to either wear it or forget about the engagement - it doesn't look so good if you can't even agree on an engagement ring, never mind the wedding style, destination or size!!0

ive just seen the new haribo advert! its very funny
i dont like 'jokey' wedding poses but that advert has given me something to think about lolI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
LOL at bubbles. The cat is a newbie to our house. She belonged to the next door neighbour but for one reason or another she couldn't really keep her so we've got her. Had her 3 days and she's cost us £300 so far. That's what he meant, but he wasn't serious!
Floss, it's not that we can't agree as such, it's just he thinks that a wedding in this country would cost well over £10k but we know going abroad would cost half that. I'm not against going abroad but he's convinced that we can't afford to get married over here. That's all it boils down to...money!! Either way, we've got a couple of years to think about it so we'll get it sorted eventually!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. 10k!!! i'm going to be trying to do mine for about 3k0

£10k is a MASSIVE amount to spend on a wedding. Will be spending no more than £6K and that is going 'overboard' for us
I'm sure if we won the lottery it would be a huge affair. But we haven't. So it's not0 -

We're on course to meet our £5k budget, and that is for a town hall wedding, Barcelo hotel 4-course reception with drinks, live band for evening bash, photographer, flowers, favours, cake, suit hire, rings, bridesmaid dress, transport, hotel rooms, gifts... If we had £10k to spend I would struggle to do so, would rather spend it on a new bathrooom & boiler!0 -
floss, can you use clubcard deals with that hotel? i had a look at the hotels but theres none near me so i didnt bother to enquire any more!I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0
