thanks white sapphire ah its really strange! this ring is one ive had on bookmark on the UK website for over a year, its been going in and out of stock but always coming back, albeit dearer! i checked it about a month ago and they only had one size left so i thought right next payday(last fri) ill buy it, went to buy it its out of stock!!! hence why i went to the US

ah thats sad split second, its not fair theyr disowning you for not be able to afford to do something!
maybe,if thats the way they are, its a good thing that you dont interact anymore
i know i wouldnt want to mix with people like that if they were going to be so hurtful
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
  • I'm sorry that some of your family have been so thoughtless and shallow, split second. If they haven't been in contact with you for five years then you should feel no guilt about not inviting them - more space for the people you actually see and get on with.

the last time most of them spoke to me directly was when my grandad (my dad's dad) died which would be nearly 10 years ago
most of the contact between the relatives goes on between them and my parents, despite the fact i am 30 and have had my own house for a few years, as a contrast my mum's side of the family are thrilled and cant wait for an excuse to come back to the part of manchester they grew up in (my mum and her siblings grew up in a house that is less than 10 minutes walk from my house :rotfl:)
Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?

    hi all
does anybody know anything about how interest works on ISA's?
the venue want a 50% of the balance payment now, when it comes to having the isa for a year will they only count the balance at the time or the whole amount paid in?

Not sure anyone can help me. I want to marry my lovely OH and he has proposed with a lovely ring, however the whole wedding thing really does not float my boat - it fills me with horror and dread - just want me and him and thats it - any ideas how to do the simple thing? (cost effectively - only snag is I'm British - he is Spanish just to make it even more complicated - though I will eventually settle in Spain full time)
  • Hi ocemeer you can have it as simple as you want, go to the registry office, get married in their actual office ie: four walls, table and three chairs, rather than the ceremony room if you want
when you phone to give notice they will tell you all the lagalities you need to do re him being foreign and after why not find a nice spanish restaurant or the like and stay in a nice hotel

ive just been doing the statistics for my wedding payments/savings so far, my head now hurts! but its good to know that with 6 months of being able to save/pay left we are 0.5% off the 50% mark!
some payments can be made later than that really so thats quite good too but having a 6 week mark keeps me strict!
my wedding ISA matures next month too so im looking forward to seeing how much free money ive got from that and then itll be a hunt for a high interest easy access savings account for the rest of the months

  • oh and i had another dream, my OH did my wedding dress up on the day but he did it too loose, i didnt want him to redo it as i didnt want him to see me(!) so i frantically rushed around finding someone who could!
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p
  • oo i forgot about the 50p pot until OH pointed it out, he put in his bonus ball winnings too so were now at exactly 50% paid/saved of the total wedding and honeymoon amount! yay go me who 5 years ago was in the same amount of debt that the four * hotel venue is charging us for a 3 course sit down meal, drinks reception, room hire and DJ for 70 day people and 130 at night! :D

Sounds great bubbles! Total bargain! :) We have a wedding saver maturing next month too so that'll cover the registrar fees. Still £1500 to find for food/drinks, eek!!

oo ive just emailed our choices of 2x starters 2x mains and 2 desserts to try at our tasting session
were going on easter monday cant wait!
they had hundreds to choose from!
once you knock out all the veg and fruit that OH doesnt like, the stuff that the oldies would look at like it'd come from a cows backside and the more expensive beef options there were still quite a few to choose from!
we did it though i just hope theyr as nom as they sound!

the interest has cleared on the ISA so thats an extra £42 for nothing and no tax to pay YAY! cant wait til 6 april now to hunt round for another good deal, bit sad a?

ive wrote the text for the invite mats but not the other info ie hotel details, bus info, gift list and rsvp
ive got all the stuff for the invites to be made so i need to get a move on really as i havnt sussed out any other hotel info
im inc' our venue but its a 4* hotel so i want to give a 2* ish priced one and ill give the details of the private bus hire fee

i was hoping to meet with the photog at the same time as the menu tasting but theyr not free on bank hols but could do a week night, thats no good as i only have sat nights off or bank hols and no more week night hols til august! nevermind itll do

cant beleive its less than 7 months now!
