Thats not my point. I would loved to have been able to perfectly honest with the customer (the strategy that got the company I worked to to the number one in their industry, which they then promptly abandoned midway through my employment) as it clearly made me more money, and made my job far easier and more satisfying. However in the eyes of my employer (after the switch to KPI's on everything which were relative to each other) I would then not have been doing my job, and would quickly have lost it.
For me personally the last straw came when I was expected to sell a landline with one in every four mobile phone sales in a store where at least half the customers were Students.
As I say, the salesman is stuck between a rock (company/job) and a hard place (customer) in many of these instances. This certainly DOES NOT apply if the policy/product has been deliberately mis-sold, please note!0 -

It's like I would say I have a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering if someone posts a query where the knowledge is relevant. Say someone said they didn't understand why their video and computer did something the way it did and I provided an explaination.
Please calm down, you are being rude and unreasonable, far ruder than the person you are objecting to.0 -

!!!!!!??? how exactly do you want me to 'calm down' and 'stop being rude and unreasonable'????0 -
So polite people end up being sold more stuff they don't want than everyone else. Get real! Why would someone who's polite not be able to decline an item. Surely they'd be better than everyone else with their abilities to politely decline the sale!
Cynics will call it that due to their negative outlook on everything. Everyone else who isn't all doom and gloom seems to be managing fine!
I doubt that you have ever dealt with the elderly.Being polite means they find it difficult to say no.
Broken Britain is the truth.Look at the number of foriegners here, all after free benefits which I have to pay for.Get your head out of the sand.0 -

What every single foreigner is after free benefits, every single one, every single one that works in the low paid jobs that alot of British people don't want to do, every single foreign worker who works as a proffessional and probably pays more in tax than you, every single foreigner who help provide the back bone of Britain?Always ask ACAS0 -

Sorry, I don't want to get into the whole "foreigners are taking our jobs and benefits and women" debate as it's far too complicated and way off topic but I don't think we can really salute all of the low paid workers that come to Britain. I'm all for freedom of travel etc but if a an EEA or A8 couple come to the UK with two children they could quite easily receive a number of state benefits while one of them works for only 8 hours a week. They would then pay no tax but receive £33.70 in Child Benefit a week, tax credits of around £60 (both child and working), housing benefit of £120 a week (in my area), their full council tax paid and free schooling, health care etc.
I don't think that anyone should be kept by the state simply because they are too lazy to work and support themselves regardless of where they are born but foreign nationals do dip into state funds.0 -

I agree but my point was that the poster before was making a blatent generalisation against all foreign people coming into this country as if they are all here for the benefits when in all honesty the MAJORITY of foreign workers pay their way.Always ask ACAS0 -

And what proof do you have of that? From your ID,you are lIkely to be a foriegner and hence on benefits.Foriegners may have jobs but they are so low paying that they hardly contribute anything.Besides they put an enormous strain on our schools, hospitals.I am sick and tired of people painting foriegners are saints while the native English are portrayed as lazy and racist.0 -
