Hi
On the bottom of my iron I have noticed that something must have been burnt as the iron is a bit sticky when ironing IYSWIM.
Any ideas on how to clean it off my iron. TIA xCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

I got a cream from ebay, called Faultless Hot Iron cleaner. You rub it in while the iron is on and the gunk rubs off.
It might be worth looking at what's causing the build up on your iron, in my case it was a pair of my son's school trousers which were non iron. They were coated with something that was rubbing off on the iron and leaving black marks on everything.0 -
I use a brillo pad, then wipe off the residue very thoroughly.0

I've always had good results with acetone and an old rag to deposit the dissolved crud on to. Acetone is commonly sold in places like boots as nail polish remover - but check the ingredients as there might be other nail polish removers with something different in them.0
