I just wanted to post my thanks.
I tried the trick with the vinegar and salt, unfortunately, it didn't work, however, I tried the one with the hot iron and a bar of soap (I used Imperial Leather from my parents) and it worked a treat, came off first go! The mark has been there for ages, should have done a search earlier. Many thanks again!! ;o)
