Tactful as ever FF. I was thinking along the lines of...

Dear Robbing Barstewards..... Am most impressed with your creative theft management policy aka cancellation tax, a thieving robbing fraudulent policy which pulls the wool over the eyes of the imbecilic morons who have the misfortune to use your services (a mistake I won't be making again). I will be nominating you for the Plain English campaigns Baffle Em With Bull Shoite Award. Bla bla bla....

No wonder people don't bother with insurance!

Another option is to print out the T&Cs of the old insurance, highlight the bits you think they have screwed you over on and write the complaint letter.

Copy in somewhere like the money pages in a major newspaper too :D

I have a hole in my wallet. A ruddy great huge one. TIs the only way I can legitimately explain the frivolous spending of £52 on fuel to fill up the new car which incidentally has purchased me 650 miles of incredibly quiet motoring.... not hat I'm playing with the many gadgets or anything. Also blew £4 on a recorder book for DD2, £16 on a set of footwell mats for the mobile money pit, £30 on edible items at Sainsburys which in theory should allow the contents of the cupboards to stretch to the end of the week although as I neglected to purchase bread this is somewhat unlikely. Also spent £20 on the DDs riding lesson and OH is investigating speakers since the rear of the money pit doesn't have any and the short whingebags who occupy the rear seats are not amused.... and the vets phoned.... I owe them £85 towards the cost of the cats eye op, the insurance company have paid out on the rest. I need another three or four or even five jobs. Think I'm averaging about £600 a day this month and theres still a heck of a lot of month to go. Quite impresively depressing to think I've blown the next 18 months salary in a little over a week. Still on the brightside at least I won't get durfed off the DFD diaries for quite some time. Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

Plans for today involve E-bay listing.... well it sounds good.. but since I've avoided it for the last three free listing days I'm not holding out much hope. Theres also a free food festival in the next big village so am rather tempted to take the DDs and munch our way through the afternoon. Also need to do yet more laundry as DD1s stuff is so unbelivably muddy that its needing to go through in small batches having been hosed down first.... more details are emerging the most ridiculous of which is the breakfast menu. Since when were chips part of a cooked breakfast? Appears she ate chips three times a day for the duration which explains the outbreak of zits on her face although the almost full bottle of shower gel is also a contributary factor. Scummy child.

I came back from a week's Guide camp once with my soap still in its unbroken wrapper.

When interrogated my mother claims I told her I'd borrowed someone else's. I may have been fibbing :D

I did that too...I think I claimed I'd used my sisters, but hers was unopened too! :rotfl:

And so another week at the grindstone starts. Abandoned the idea of the food festival and spent the day at a friends instead. Five sweaty hours later we'd managed to chunk about a third of a dead elm tree into logs and the DDs had groomed some poor unsuspecting pony for an eternity thoroughly enojoying themselves. Chainsaw is now completely kaput whilst before it was merely on its last legs. OH is hankering after a Stihl which although pricey is probably the most sensible option since this is the third domestic chainsaw we've written off in a decade. First need to see if I can source a replacement oil pump for the knackered one but considering its age thats not very likely.

Plans for today involve attempting to source the aforementioned pump as well as all the usual domestic drudgery that the first day back at school brings. Need to work miracles on lunchboxes because I completely forgot to bake last night and so the poor DDs will be forced to starve.

Whilst on the subject of the DDs a wee apology is in order. Those of you who thought they were chatting to me on Facebook were actually duped by DD2 although I hadn't twigged she was messaging people for the first few minutes I did make her out herself eventually. Did wonder why she suddenly screached "mummy, I'm communicating" I thought it was part of the game. It seemed like such an odd choice of phrase for a 7 year old. This morning rummage around the school bag revealed Fridays homework. The rather nightmarish write about your weekend. DD2 did hers this morning: This weekend I grew a cow and some sheep and harvested some corn and tomatoes and then I battered a bear and some foxes and communicated with people on the internet. Hmmm. Am hoping she can be pursuaded to rewrite this once we get to school minus the Facebook bits.

House seems to be in its usual post weekend state of disarray not helped by a puppy in season who is behaving v. oddly indeed. No walks in the park for her this week but hopefully she'll be Ok by the weekend which will be most excellent timing as the beaches reopen to dogs until next May.

Need to get a move on sorting DD1s birthday. The list remains unchanged and so I need to pre-order Just Dance 2 and source a duvet cover of unknown design (eek the potential for this backfiring is huge) and a sparkly riding crop with a star on the end.

And one of those would be me. I did wonder why you were so amazed that Tesco was open on a Sunday :rotfl:

On the subject of that, I may have told her when prompted that it was open 24 hours on Sunday because Edinburgh was a heathen city...

Next time "you" chat to me on FB I'm going to ask security questions :o

Must admit I'd have been surprised at you shopping on a Sunday too as the stores here open at 11am, close at 4pm and refuse to admit entry after 3:30. They also close at lunchtime on wednesdays. Makes it much easier to have NSDs when the shops refuse to let you in.

I did think the deluge of smileys might have prompted people to think the keyboard was being used by an imposter....

Did have to explain what a heathen was although that was far easier than explaining why one of her friends mums was excited about getting laid when shes clearly not a chicken. Cue a conversation about being grateful that children get the table ready for dinner which was going so well until it was pointed out that the family in question don't own a table.

Off to peruse the delights of e-bay in the hopes of sourcing sparkly riding crops.
