Another day, another early start in total darkness.

Was v. efficient yesterday and managed two loads of laundry and the ironing as well as a v. long walk with a suspiciously well behaved puppy. Usually she hurls herself at passing horses, cows and sheep and barks at flocks of geese. Yesterday when one of the horses came galloping across the field towards her she just sat there. Same when a WW2 plane came v. noisily overhead. Perhaps shes finally beginning to calm down. However the cynical side of me wonders if shes feeling OK and will be keeping a v. close eye on her for the next few days.

OH is also being suspiciously helpful. He took DD2 to tthe park after school and then returned home to shuffle the log stores around to make space for this years delivery even going so far as to chainsaw up and split the remainder of the big logs. Don't think he realises just how big a difference little things like that make. Was then treated to a tuna pasta bake. Have never successfully managed to persuade him that hot tuna is detestable. At least hes stopped insisting that it should be 50% peas. That really was revolting.

Have recieved a temporary promotion at work and am now the Heads official chaufeur and have to collect him from his jolly at the outdoor pursuits centre asap means I get to spend and hour or so razzing round the lanes in his v. sporty car whilst being paid for it. Just the small matter of chopping a sheet of MDF into 60 identical rectangles for a D&T class before I can escape. This is turning into my perfect day. An hour of playing with power tools making lots of mess followed by another couple of hours pootling round admiring the countryside. All I have to do now is figure out how to stash the puppy in the car so that we can go for a wander round the woodlands at the other end because the country park there is amazing.

Head chaufeured, laundry done, car washed and vac'ed inadvertantly removing the large patch of rust blocking the hole in the boot. At least this explains why the car has suddenly become nosier than usual. Now banishing bears from DD2s homestead when what I'm actually supposed to be doing is hacking down pine trees.

Meanwhile it looks like I may have a private buyer for my old car. Why do these things happen? Still for the sake of a bit of time I'll be £60 better off than I would at the v. posh car showroom assuming that the person in question actually wants to part with cash for it. Now have to see if they do actually really want it and then have to persuade the car rep that he doesn't want the hassle of selling it which means he won't be paying £125 to send it to auction and gambling on making a profit which equally means I can haggle a wee bit more on the difference between the 12 months road tax I thought I was paying for and the 6 months he was actually slapping on it. Many phone calls later its getting 12 months tax ... the only debatable bit is who's paying the difference... and it won't be me!

I am not getting excited. I am not getting excited. I did not go out to my car at 9pm armed with a torch to lift the carpet in the boot to see if I'd missed anything under there minutes before returning to the car with the same torch to peer under the seats. Its not like I'm suddenly going to find a stray £50 there or something that couldn't wait until daylight.

DD1s outdoor pursuits centre is lovely. Wish I was going myself. May well feel the need to volunteer for it next year.

TOday is a day of mundane drudgery. No puppy school so no excuses. Would be most tempted to pootle off to the woods for a wander were it not for the torrential nocturnal deluge thats flooded the front garden - note "garden" is a euphanism for stip of weeds liberally strewn with bricks, rubble, trailers and landie parts. At least the overgrown hedges mean the neighbours can't whinge too much.

Discovered yesterday that we feature on Google Streetview as a school f motoring. More concerning than that and the view of the interior of my house is the washing line full of smalls in the back garden. If I knew they were doing a drive by I'd have left the granny pants indoors.

So in theory I've now sold my car twice. Ain't life complicated. Private buyer is calling this afternoon with the cash. Have phoned the dealers to check they are OK with this but its the sales reps day off and his business manager isn't available so have left a message.

Meanwhile was late for work this morning due to a kamikazee kitten which is no more. Managed to divert DD2s attention by sending her back into the house for random objects whilst clearing up the mess. Fortunately she hasn't realised as what was outside was no longer cat shaped. Will now have to concoct some elaborate story to cover up the unexpected demise as long term absenteeism to explain why she didn't get an open box burial in the garden.

Off to see if the boys Landie will start otherwise I need to bung it on charge in order to get to work.

£5 gift voucher, dog guard and bread book have all arrived. Am supposed to be cleaning the bathroom but keep getting side tracked on Farmville and Frontierville and all manner of other facebook platform games. So many fun things to do and yet its the mundane ones that I really need to do first that I'm avoiding most.

Car is being collected from work which means I'm not reliant on the landie starting although it did start when I tried it which means it would probably get me to school but then would refuse to bring me home again. Tomoorw morning is another story entirely. Am rather glad OH is at hoome then cos I can nick his car for the duration.

Oh no, bad luck about the kitten :(

Hurrah about the car though, you must be thrilled. Don't tell her, but I can't wait to get rid of Scraps and buy something with power steering and a radio that isn't foiled by low bridges :D

Another day. Another half hour wasted playing Frontierville and !!!!! Wars and Treasure Isle and Poker all in the hopes of achieving level 8 across the board to be able to build a fictional game on Frontierville. Why oh why do I let myself be talked into these things.

Now have cash instead of car. Its been a while since I saw so much all at once. Never normally seem to have more than £20 at any one time, not that that stops me spending.

Plans for today are very exciting ones. Do random things to kill time untill 10:30 at which point oH and I can head off to the swanky car showroom to avail ourselves of as much free tea and coffee and canned drinks as we can cope with before handing over a mortifying amount of wonga and heading home in a shiny new motor. Am not even the teeny weenyiest bit excited. Really I'm not.
