I have had my co op visa card refused twice recently , Marks & Spencer and Virgin Money but a with Virgin money a Direct Debit from account is working how bizzarr is that

Your debit card is still recognised as an Electron, despite the card saying 'Visa debit' on it. The retailers haven't updated their BIN database to recognise the card as a Visa debit. It's not the cards fault.

I think the only place I have had problems was Kwik-fit and a 'pay at the pump' Asda petrol station. I can't recall any other problems - it certainly works as M&S

We do NOT accept Solo or Visa Electron cards that off m&s site see in that coop visa debit card still come up as a Visa Electron

will it work in pay at pump in other stores please. i know the old one did not

all I can say is that my visa debit coop card works in M&S,Ive never had a refusal when Ive used it.

Ive only had mine since Feb so maybe thats why mine works?

The card will work in nearly every store, it is online and pay at the pumps where the problem lies. I know it will not work with Tesco online but I use it a lot in the store with no problems.
