Because I'm hacked off with BT that's why... who have 12 month contracts which roll into another 12 month contract without telling you. I doubt O2 will do this. TalkTalk customer service is probably even worse.

I'd rather pay a bit more and get a decent service where you know where you stand.

If you have a better proposition it looks like I have a couple of months to investigate.

I'm hoping O2 will have taken on board feedback regarding the callerid though and maybe include in the package.

BT write to you to inform you that another 12 month contract will begin, and that is your chance to cancel if you don't want it to happen. Also, when you chose that contract, you would have known it was a renewing contract. There was a slightly more expensive option that is 12 months, and 12 months only, turning into a 30 day rolling contract after this period. Sorry, it just bugs me when people blame companies for their lack of understanding what contract they signed.

It's already here and has been for years. It's called BT.

O2 are just using their own logos on the paperwork but it'll be the same services. We've seen nothing new from their comments.

But it's all a dream so far as there is no service available.

You've got to be joking!!! You mean that O2 will use the same Indian call centres BT use? Change T&Cs mid contract and try and hide them? Not let you know when your 12 month contract is being renewed automatically? Give you incorrect information when you ring up about why you've been overcharged? Blatantly lie (in writing) when you ask to cancel your 12 month contract under their own T&Cs when they define when an evening starts by telling me I have to pay a cancellation charge? Provide a myriad of packages with hard to understand bills?

O2 broadband was certainly not BT broadband rebadged so I don't know how you are claiming the phone service will be BT rebadged.

Not true, yes they will use the same supply, but that is where it should end, they will use their own Call Centres and pricing policies.

Whilst this is yet to be tested, it cannot possibly be any worse than BT.

There's no indication that they will be offering line installation or reactivation at this stage.

This may be the reason the launch has been delayed as O2 were originally not going to offer new line connections just a takeover of an existing working line.
As other companies have had negative feedback for not doing full line provides/homemoves etc they may be having a re-think as O2 have excellent record of good service for mobile and broadband and they will want the same for the landline connections.
