When is O2 Home Phone coming?

I've used the O2 blog asking when O2 Home Phone is coming but they haven't published my query. Someone on here said O2 had told them it was postponed until May. I've cancelled my BT 12 month contract so I can go onto O2 Home Phone but am a bit concerned that the May rumour may be true. It was reported to be launched in March. Anyone got any inside info?

Not sure why some people are getting excited about 02 for telephone, they are not very competitive.
Caller Display is extra, 12 month contract.0 -

Sounds about right, they are a Spanish owned company after all.:D0 -
Plenty of rumours about a delay to May, but I've seen nothing official from 02 to confirm this.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Because I'm hacked off with BT that's why... who have 12 month contracts which roll into another 12 month contract without telling you. I doubt O2 will do this. TalkTalk customer service is probably even worse.
I'd rather pay a bit more and get a decent service where you know where you stand.
If you have a better proposition it looks like I have a couple of months to investigate.
I'm hoping O2 will have taken on board feedback regarding the callerid though and maybe include in the package.0 -

I use IDNet for my call telephone call package, 30 day contract, free Caller Display etc. etc.
Far cheaper and fairer than BT.
Great company, almost instant freephone support by a technical expert based in the UK.
As I said, I am not sure why everyone seems to be raving about 02.0 -

Thanks for that, To be fair though the evenings and weekends doesn't look 'far cheaper' than BT. The BT evenings and weekends is about £11.75 with the same things that the £13.99 IDNet Evenings and Weekend plan gives. The downsides to BT are customer service, 12 month contract and 7pm evening start time...but not really price.
Looking at the O2 Anytime package at £12.50 + £1.75 caller id = £14.25. Compare that with IDNet Unlimited landline for £16.99 it seems to me O2 are giving you free international calls to 20 countries AND £2.74 a month cheaper. Yes it's a 12 month contract...but if their service is like their broadband and mobile I will be happy enough with that.
I think I'd be as well off on Post Office for £12 + caller id than IDNet for a temporary measure but I'm here to be swayed.
I'm not raving about O2. It just seems a decent deal.0 -
It is all down to user requirements.
I use the IDNet 300 mins including line rental, that suits my needs, I get inclusive 0870 0845 as well as 01/02/03 and calls to a lot of International Destinations included, anything over the 300 mins. is charged at 2 pence a minute, all for £13.99 a month.
This is not restricted to evenings and weekends, it is 24/7.
I seem to recall 02 having a " Fair Usage Policy " whatever that means.0 -
Go with primus, I been told minimum contract is 6 months
You dont have to go with line rental
free evening and local council and at weekend for nowtBecause I'm hacked off with BT that's why... who have 12 month contracts which roll into another 12 month contract without telling you. I doubt O2 will do this. TalkTalk customer service is probably even worse.

if cheaper or not
I am sure that o2 CS would be better than BT's.
BT's CS is synonym for hell.0
