Kings Cross is the destination - I suppose I could go at 9 it is still expensive though and mods can merge my post just really want an answer didnt know what board to put it in
Depart Bexhill 09:01, arrive Victoria 10:58. Advance Singles = £7.40.
Tube to Kings Cross. Cash £4.00, Oyster £1.90.
Tube from Kings Cross. Cash £4.00, Oyster £1.90.
Depart Victoria 13:47 (or 14:17), arrive Bexhill !5:42 (or 16:02). Advance Singles = £7.40.
So total return fare for two people could be £18.60 with Oyster or £22.80 without Oyster.
With Advance Singles you must travel on the booked trains.
To get those £7.40 fares, you must book through Southern Railway's website... link in previous post.0 -

Advance Singles each way between Euston and Crewe can be had for £8 each way using London Midland Trains only.
An Off Peak Return from Crewe to Oxenholme Lake District is £41.40 each.
Shave a few more pounds off by going via Manchester.
Crewe - Manchester Pic Off Peak Return Virgin Trains only = £11.70.
Manchester Pic - Oxenholme Off Peak return = £25.60.0 -

I'm going slightly mad here trying to keep my bank account and teenaged daughter happy! Haven't been on a train since I was a student, many years ago, and am shocked by the prices. Any help, gratefully received. My daughter (14) and I want to travel from Plymouth to London on Friday 28th October, arriving 9 - 10am ish, and leaving around 8ish. Any ideas on best deals. Many thanks!
Please, pretty please!:D

How about...
Dep Plymouth 05:30, arr Paddington 09:21. Advance Singles = £45.75.
or dep Plymouth 05:53, arr Paddington 09:00. Advance Singles = £45.75.
then dep Paddington 19:45, arr Plymouth 23:26. Advance Singles = £45.75.
So total return for one adult and one child = £91.50.
Now, get a Family and Friends Railcard and that total return fare for the two of you drops to £51.90.
An F&F railcard usually costs £28 so you will more than save that outlay on this one trip, but the railcard is valid for a year.
There are often discounts on the railcard bringing that £28 down by 10% -20%.
Or get one with Tesco Clubcard points at £14 I think.
With Advance Singles you must travel on the booked trains.

LM trains take rather longer, and the first Stoke departure is 10:54.
Can knock that down by 50p using Advance Singles, but you lose all flexibility.... on the other hand outward cheap tickets are available earlier.

Blimey, that was quick! Off to look at London Midland now. Thanks.0

Applying for a student railcard online how long do they take to arrive & can you book stating you have one if it isn't in your possession? Would printout of email suffice during this period?0
