The route you want to travel on is more of an 'East Coast & connections' route so better off looking on their website for any special offers or cheap advance tickets.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

I would like 2 Adult and 1 Child tickets from Truro to Taunton on 2nd August. (ideally from Bridgwater to Truro actually)
I would like the return to be on 4th August.
I have searched around and I must be missing something.
Can anyone help me to find a good fare for this journey please?
Much Appreciated xx** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -
Problem is the late booking rather than anything else - the cheapest fares have long gone
Try a Groupsave3 though - should save you a little bit. FGW trains only - I don't think Cross Country do them
You can buy Groupsave on the day - it's not an advance ticket.0 -
Hmm.... think I must be doing something wrong as I am getting £95 for the three tickets. I'm sure they could be got cheaper still though somewhere.
Where / how do I buy a groupsave3 ticket?** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -
You can buy a Groupsave ticket at Bridgwater or Taunton stations on the day
There is a cheaper ticket - £74 from Bridgwater - but you have to buy a F&F railcard at £28. Worth it if you anticipate making more journeys
There are cheaper fares - for example if you were booking now for travel in October you might (with the railcard) be able to do the round trip for £25ish
You can get the railcard when you buy your first ticket - it doesn't have to be done in advance0 -
Buy off-peak tickets in advance with www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/railsale
Apparently you can combine an adult ticket bought this way with the 'Kids for a quid' promotion; have to buy the child's ticket at the station though, not available online. Had this confirmed by the Southeastern office at Tonbridge, who confirmed it with the local station.
