The Southern website is saying that the fare is not available on trains after the 18.07 train back to Liverpool Lime Street on 4th December. Does that mean you cannot use that London All Zones Travelcard on them trains then?

What sort of London All Zons Travelcard are you asking about?

If it's the special offer one, that's what it means. No later trains.

If it's a normal full price one, then you can use it.

It means you cannot use a Super Off Peak Day Return with Travelcard at £32.40 on any train leaving Euston later than 18:07.

But ask at a train station for a definitive answer.

Thanks not such a great ticket then as in your earlier post you mentioned the 2 further trains (19.07 and 20.11) that you could use but it now seems you cant.

On this particular date - you can still do it on 11th for example

Its the £ 32.40 ticket. Have already booked it for 4th as going to watch Everton play at Chelsea so it looks like it will be a mad dash for the 18.07 then! But not happy as i could have booked one of the later trains when i got the ticket but it said return seat booking was not compulsory.

Also the rules of travel below make the argument you can get any train back stronger so i will use this to argue the toss if i miss the 18.07

Saturday Day Travel card is a
    Standard Class product
    allowing customers to travel
from a number of Virgin Trains
    stations to London and enjoy
    unlimited travel throughout
    London Fare Zones 1-6.
    Reservations are compulsory
    for the outward journey and
    customers must travel on this
    service. The return journey
can be made at any time on the
same day, although it is not
    reservation compulsory,
    reservations are recommended.
Please note that the ticket is
    quota controlled on the
    outward journey, and
    reservations must be made out
    of the correct quota. For
    reservations for the return
    journey, the default standard
    class quota can be used.

    You're welcome.

And at the time of writing, it was available on those late trains.

But it also says they are quota controlled.

No-one else's fault is it then?

You should easily be able to get from Chelsea to Euston in under an hour.

    Have a nice day.

The rules for coming back are not very clear and its seems the terms are changing constantly. As i cant think of any other ticket were the goalposts are moved once you have bought it.

Yes i should make it back within the hour but any hitch on the way and it seems like i will have to pay a high priced single fare.

If you miss that 18:07 train, I believe you should be able to excess the return portion of that Super Off Peak ticket to an Off Peak ticket.

    Around £16 extra I imagine.

  • Hey, wondering if anyone can help me, London to Manchester on the 11th of December.

Using virgin best fare finder I have found one for £52 and I was wondering if that price could get slashed a little.

I was hoping to arrive in Manchester at around 1pm - 2pm if possible, can anybody help?
