Cheers for that. I normally book on first great western who have no fees but i cant see that fare on there but have looked at that southwestern site you mentioned and it has come up. Just one more thing is can that be booked to start from regional northern stations and not just main ones like Lime Street?
Need to buy a seperate ticket to Lime Street.
I made a slight mistake earlier... that ticket is only valid on Virgin Trains.... not London Midland at all, or MerseyRail, or anything else.0 -
Only bookable from Lime Street.

Its strange that the ticket is only coming up on the southernrailway site. Its like the others are hiding it.0 -

Different search engine, but I don't know why it isn't on others.0 -
I'm rather puzzled
A superoffpeak return from Liverpool to London is £24.50 - walkon fares on London Midland trains only. An off peak return is £66.20 - any operator. Again a walk on fare
Virgin are offering advance singles at £29 a throw on many trains that day so £58 return
Superoffpeak fares are not normally valid on Virgin - if the Southern site says they are it's either screwed up or a special offer. Looking at it I suspect the latter. It seems to include a one day travelcard to boot. At £32.40 it looks a bargain.0 -

It is also offered by Southeastern, LondonMidland and EastCoast.
Even National rail Enquiries can be persuaded to show it.

Who I think all use the same booking engine.I'm surprised it doesn't show on the Virgin site (that I can see) - after all it's presumably their offer.
On NRE in only shows when you tell it to add a Travelcard.
Looks like FGW, Virgin et al, are not bright enough to give the travelcard option initially, and they have no option (that I could find) to add a travelcard.0 -
Yes they do.
I cannot find it on FGW or Virgin either.

seems to indicate it's a fairly established offer0 -

For flexibility you need an off peak return at £60.40 (from Hartlepool)
You can get it a bit cheaper (just over £50) with a Grand Central anytime return Hartlepool to York and an offpeak return on - but it doesn't give you much flexibility as there are only 4 Grand Central trains a day0
