What you have found is the walkon off peak return fare via Oxford - you could buy it on the day at the same price if you so wanted.

There don't appear to be any cheap advance tickets for your journey, so what you could try is seeing if they are there for different legs of the journey. See what happens if you price Reading to Birmingham and Brmingham to Carlisle to take the most obvious splitting point.

Thanks, I did have a look at that, and I could get Reading to Birmingham New Street for £17 each way (£34) but then comes the problem at Birmingham to Carlisle, when its £37 each way!! Still no better.....:(
  • Hello
can anyone help me find a cheaper ticket please ?
want to go 2 adults, no railcard options, Kettering to Edinburgh 18th august to 22nd august - £213.60.

tried split at sheffied, £170.60 and although birmingham way cheaper at £134 it takes much much longer. Just wondered if any other ideas ?

    thank you for any help;)
Virgintrains have afternoon trains out and back from Birmingham to Edinburgh on these dates at £33 return per person but sorry can't advise on your travel to get to Birmingham
  • HI!
Can any one help me .
I need a single ticket from London euston to Crewe for 14th June . So monday . I really needed around 4.30 - 5.30 but all tickets at this time are £80+ .
Ive already bought a single ticket from Crewe to London euston for £30 with London Midland ,

Does anyone know if it would be best to wait until Sunday to buy the ticket or will it be even more expensive? Or am i just going to have to change the time i travel :(

Tickets will not be cheaper on Sunday. Also, the cheapest available now may have been sold by then.

At 16:33 and 17:10 there are Virgin Trains with an Advance Single at £68.50.

Outside your time slot, there are London Midland Only Advance Singles for £15 leaving Euston at 15:46 or 18:29. These take a bit longer though.

Info from London Midland Trains website.

    Why Euston to New Street?

Have only looked at one day, the Friday...
Dep Marylebone 07:50, arr Birmingham Moor Street 09:49. Advance Single = £5.00.
Moor Street is about 5 mins walk from New Street.
Dep Birmingham New Street 18:33, arr Euston 20:49. Advance Single = £6.00.

Info from London Midland Trains website.

Heyy, I'm really sorry. I meant 26th, 27th or 28th of July, not June! And I don't mind which station in Birmimgham, but I prefer New St or Snow hill. But I don't mind Moore St either

    Ok, no problem.

£5 each way Marylebone to Moor St/Snow Hill on the first two days.
On 28 July return leg is a little more at £6/£7.50.

Have a look at that website I mentioned earlier for your prefered times.
