can anyone help me find a cheaper ticket please ?
want to go 2 adults, no railcard options, Kettering to Edinburgh 18th august to 22nd august - £213.60.
tried split at sheffied, £170.60 and although birmingham way cheaper at £134 it takes much much longer. Just wondered if any other ideas ?
thank you for any help;)
Sorry, don't know the bus fares, but here is the timetable.
There are plenty of Advance Singles Peterborough-Edinburgh for £45.40 if bought from East Coast Trains website. That's the price for two of you.
Will cost more coming back. Sunday travel is very popular.
But leaving at 09:00 or 09:30, Advance Singles can be had for £62.30... again for two, when bought from that same website.0 -
Sorry its a single trip, does anybody kbow if it wuld be any cheaper to split our journey , times do not matter.0

No it won't be any cheaper to split.
You split when there are no advance singles available for your journey.
Splitting is a much oversold technique. Even when it works, a lot of the time it's the advance element that's doing the saving, not the splitting - ie advance tickets are available for part of the journey but not the whole.0 -
thanks for your advice and help..0

Hi, does anyone know of any offers from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston?
There are 6 of us, all adults, going out on the morning of Friday 9th June and coming back Saturday 10th June in the evening.
Cheapest I have found is £40 for each of us there and back - was just wondering if anybody knew any juicy discounts I could find!!
Thanks0 -

If that's £20 per person each way that IS a juicy discount
If that's £40 per person each way a walkon ticket is cheaper.0 -

A Super Off Peak Return via London Midland Trains only is £24.00 each, but it does take 3hrs 45mins.
Advance Singles are available each way from £11 each person each way.
Again on London Midland Trains only.
Consider Groupsave. Three or four people travel for the price of two.

Hey!
Can anyone help me find a cheap return from Reading to Carlisle?
I am very flexible on dates and times, don't care when I go as long as its cheap lol!
I have found £48.05 each way, or £34.70 each way if I buy a 16-25 rail card, but again thats not saving much then is it?
Its just me and my daughter but she is only 3 so no charge for her.

What you have found is the walkon off peak return fare via Oxford - you could buy it on the day at the same price if you so wanted.
There don't appear to be any cheap advance tickets for your journey, so what you could try is seeing if they are there for different legs of the journey. See what happens if you price Reading to Birmingham and Brmingham to Carlisle to take the most obvious splitting point.0
