Any train promotion codes out there?

Hi,
I'm travelling to Wembley on the 19th of June to see the Green Day gig. I'm travelling from Southampton and have been looking at train tickets.
I can get a Megabus for £8 which does the job, but it's coming back that's the issue. The single return in the early hours of the morning is costing £31.70!!! Which is more than a return (£30.80).
I've managed to find out that a Waterloo to Woking and then Woking to Southampton ticket is slightly cheaper, but still doesn't make it worth getting the Megabus up there.
Any one got any tips/codes etc, that may help, otherwise I might just have to bit the bullet and get the return.
Thanks,
Simon.
P.S. The Travelcard option makes the return ticket £34.80, is that worth getting over using my Oyster card?
If you can get to Victoria by 2330 there's a National Express bus - currently £2 (Worth checking outwards as well - megabus are not always cheaper)
Otherwise can't think of anything
Your Oyster will chagre you £2.40 each way from Waterloo/Victoria to Wembley0 -

The gig doesn't finish until 2300!
I'll have another look round, but the National Express option is not one I like. i'm quite tall and the cramped bus conditions don't suit!
Thanks though.0 -

Well I can do it for £27.60 - a £19.30 southern only advance purchase off peak single to Fratton from Victoria and a normal £8.30 single on.
But it does mean either getting the 0102 from Victoria then spending 3 hours in Brighton or hanging around until the 0402 from Victoria.
Somehow doesn't sound worth it
Edit - I don't think it's valid on the 0102 anyway, so it's the 0402 or revert to plan A0 -
My son and friend are travelling to Download Festival on the 9th June, travelling back on the 14th June. Using a Young Person RAilcard each and wanting to arrive in Derby about 11.00am, it would be best for them to have an open return rather than a set time. Cheapest I have got it down to is £43.55 open return.
Can anyone find it any cheaper than that?0 -

What's wrong with an off peak return at £29.45? The only restriction is that travel (in both directions) must start after 0930. You are not confined to pre-booked trains.0 -
Looking to travel from Liverpool Lime St to Newport (Gwent) this weekend. I'm flexible on exact dates/times, but the cheapest rail tickets I can find for 2 people is £122!!! That's outrageous. I usually only pay about £60-£70 for 2.
Anyone help?0 -

Advance Singles Crewe to Newport = £24.00 each way.
Therefore total for both of you return = £75.40.
