This weekend means that I'd like to travel on Friday and come back on Sunday. Times are completely flexible, but at those prices, it's not going to happen.0

You can get through advance singles via Peterborough for just under £25 each way
You can get a through flexible return via London for £54.30
I'm dubious that splitting will help.
Places to try splitting: Preston Manchester Sheffield maybe even Leeds.0 -
Get up north or down south from just £5 one way this summer. Travel between London and Leeds or Wakefield for a fiver and see the best of Britain for a pittance.
London to Yorkshire
Leave the big smoke behind and head north to Yorkshire. With its lush green dales, modern cities and friendly folk, its not hard to see why the region is known as Gods Own County.
Leeds offers some of the best shopping and nightlife in the north, all a stones throw from the Yorkshire Dales. And if youre really after a taste of traditional Yorkshire, check out the bustling market town of Wakefield.
Yorkshire to London
If you want a glimpse of the bright lights, make a beeline for the capital. Museums, concerts, theatres and more Europes biggest city really does have it all. And you can experience everything London has to offer for just £5 with East Coast.

On that date it can be done for £218.00.
Dep Aberdeen 13:50, arr London Kings Cross 21:20. Advance Singles = £218.00.
But if you had a Family and Friends railcard, that fare drops to £113.30.
Full price of the railcard is £26.00, but there are often discounts around.
