You better check. There are no Virgin Train services from London to Liverpool and a coach will opperate from Crewe to Liverpool.

i will just go on the Saturday instead and its cheaper to get train to york for £17 and then train to darlilngton for £11

Hi - was wondering if anyone could find anything cheaper for 4 adults going from Aberdeen to Newcastle by train - leaving Friday 23rd April, returning Sun 25th April. Cheapest can find is £85.70 return each. Thanks in advance for your help

That trip on those dates can be done for £69.85 each using Advance Singles from East Coast Trains.

To get those prices you must book via that website and travel on the booked trains.

Those fares are first class too... cheaper than standard this time.

ETA: just looked again and see it can be done for £55.25 each. Same site, standard class though.

Wondering if anyone can help me....trying to find a cheap train ticket from London to Newcastle on Sunday 25th April - arriving any time before 3pm. Not doing so well at the moment!

If it's cheap then I'd also want a return on Tuesday 27th leaving any time after 10am. I have found a cheap coach but it takes 7.5 hours!

What do you consider to be a cheap ticket?

Off Peak Return, via Grand Central Trains, London to Sunderland is £71.00.
Anytime Single Sunderland to Newcastle is £2.90.

On eastcoast.co.uk the cheapest London to Newcastle for that date is £46. If you've got a railcard you can get significantly cheaper than that.
Going to Sunderland is going round the houses a bit, first of all you can only get the train there from Kings Cross, then in Sunderland the quickest way to Newcastle is on the Metro train/tram, which takes 40mins and isn't the most pleasant means of transportation.

That £46 is a Single ticket.

Not much of a problem... its the only London station for Newcastle too, isn't it?
