Its insane when they ask that isnt it lol the MW asked me at my booking in appointment, I was like erm no lol
I understand why they ask and appreciate the motivation but I don't think realistically that it's a very effective method. If someone has faced up to it sufficiently that they can admit it to someone who asks them directly the first time they meet them then they're probably not still in the situation anyway. Also the way my HV asked (she made it very clear she was asking purely because she was supposed to) would make it very hard for someone to admit it if they were being beaten as the implication was that the answer would be "No". Obviously it was "No" in my case but I think it would be hard for someone to say "Yes" the way she asked it.

I don't generally watch daytime tv so didn't see the abortion lady....I have seen a video of the procedure, it is an awful thing to go through.....if every girl was shown that video in school they may be a bit more careful. On the flip side of the coin I do have a friend who has had one and, knowing her reasons, makes me torn on the whole subjetct!
I once started watching The Silent Scream but I had to stop - I just couldn't watch it.

There's not much choice so I'm assuming thats whats left to buy online. I really need some tops for work!

If OH had still been working in footy then J would have been going to footie matches from about 4 months old :D

yeh the online orders started last night, so probs not much left on there now, forgot about that, sorry :)

Thanks Natalie. Am only wanting sleepsuits and vest and rompers for summer. Not much there in 6-9 months. Would say I might just stay in bed, but will be up no doubt any way.

At my booking in i was asked if me and OH were related :rotfl:

They asked us again at our wedding license interview  :p
We got asked that too - I'd forgotten. I also had to tell the registrar on my wedding daythat I was there of my own choice and wasn't being forced into the marriage. (Need rolls eyes smiley.)

    hi everyone,

being MIA a bit lately but do have a lurk about at night.

sorry i missed weezl & GISI's birthdays and jasmine's birthay...happy belated birthday from me and LO.

things not so great for me at the minute. although thankfully LO appears to be over the sickness bug, but has taken to screaming on and off during early hours, even when she is in bed with me and the only thing that will comfort her (and that's not for long) is her bottle (with milk).

i am not sure if it's her teeth, it may be. we have six now with the 7th coming through. nothing seems to work though in that regard. tried calpol/teething powders/bonjella. i have bought some abesol today but i'm not holding my breath.

i think it's probably behavourial but i have no idea about how to tackle it. she wont stay in a room on her own either. if she is in the cot, she wont whitter away to her self or play with her toys if i leave the room, she goes into full on screams, getting hysterical if i dont come back. if i let her get to the hysterical stage, then she throws up.

it's really getting to me but i dont know what to do about it. no desire to go to the HV about it, as even though mine are lovely, i think they think we live in a perfect world where if you do A, B, C then said child will respond appropriately. nope, mine has a mind of her own and will do as she pleases (and she's only 1).

work is pants ... beyond pants which isn't helping.

i'm not sleeping much either. going to sleep early hours and then being up on and off with LO until up for work.

sorry for the long self indulgent post, just need to get it out really.

love and hugs to all xxx

Becles your party story brought a tear to my eye. It must have meant so much to the little lad just to be at a party. Aw!

Susan - JLS are a boy band. They were on the X-Factor :)

will just say... coming from a country where abortion is illegal, i'm pro-choice. the lady on this morning said, if she had been given more support and information she prob would have had at least 1 of the children and had them adopted. (my freind did this, and the baby would be 19 this year). and although the age she was when she had the 1st abortion was not mentioned, i presume that she was under 16 as otherwise it would have been said.
Unfortunately (leaving aside whether it is right or not), whichever way round the law is people will end up forced into the option they would not have chosen.
