Just wanted to post a quick note to say I haven't disappeared again. I went out on Wed night with mummy friends and then finally got my eyes lasered yesterday, so wasn't allowed on the computer. Not sure if I'm supposed to be on it today until I've been for my check up this morning, so will be going offline again soon. Should be on tonight though for a proper catch-up.

What's it like gettting your eyes done? I've been thinking about it for a while but too scared - also do you know if there is any long term research on the effects?
    ...

Also can someone run through with me everything we will need in changing bag? nappies, baby wipes, nappy sacks, cotton wool, changing mat, change of clothes, bottles of milk.

Just in case you dont have soap and water handy I always take an antibac gel - free ones in the sainsburys/huggies bundle I think. Also a muslin for wiping up sick. You don't need the cotton wool if you are using wipes already.

Someone wanted casing kits - you can get them at kiddicare: http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categorydisplay10A_269_10751_14773_-1__14054_14054_10001_14054

My BIL is a dentist and managed to *acquire* some dental stuff for me to do a print of Erins foot which we then painted gold and framed ;)

thanks ladies i think its just one of those days, between having to deal with the monster, tiredness and having everything from yest playing on my mind its just all got to me. He has always been a handful but hearing so many negative things just hits you!
think an early night is in store but i am ordering a sky film tonight and thinking of doing popcorn - any tips???? i have the kernals here and tried it before with no luck lol!

Caz...I can't imagine exactly how you are feeling:( but I do have enough problems with ds2 to understand a little bit. I also know how you are feeling with Erin screaming and being clingy....((HUGS))

Popcorn...if you have the basic cook in a pan stuff you need to put a good amount of oil in the bottom and heat it till nearly smoking...then chuck a good portion of kernals in and cover with a lid, shaking gently....it will start popping just keep shaking a bit more bigorously and all the kernal should pop open within a minute or so...I usually do two batches one with salt on and one with sugar on:D:D
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
  • Lady bird its from the competition thread, trying to win the full alphabet of prizes for 2010. So if I win a t-shirt I can cross off T or if I win flowers I can cross of F etc. Kinda fun, I love my comps.
    x x xx

Cool - I've lapsed on my comping. I used to enter loads of things, had a phase of winning lots and got really motivated, then didn't win anything again, so kind of stopped... which would prevent me from winning any more :rotfl:.

I'm going to try out this recipe with Izzy after tea - we've not done cooking yet, so I don't know if she will enjoy it, or wander off leaving a floury mess in her wake. :rotfl: I will let you know later!

I know how you mean Caz. I know exactly what my J's behavoir is like :o but it's still horrible hearing other people being negative about him.

I've got the DLA forms to look forward to this week as i've just realised his award runs out in January 2011. I hate, hate, hate them because you have to write/see all the negative bits down in black and white - i'll just have to keep the good bits in my mind.

Ooo just seen Mothercare have them reduced at £12.80 and I think I have a mothercare voucher for William
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
  • I haven't told you the latest episode in our odd neighbour saga.

I'm not told you all of the saga either, so a brief version:

when we moved in there was a young couple next door with a little girl
after a while they split up - we still saw the dad out and about, and mum came to visit with the little girl every so often
gradually we saw dad less and less - only ever saw him when mum came to visit with the daughter - also had people knocking on our door asking if anyone lived next door.
One day mum came and moved a load of stuff out and another girl moved things in - assumed maybe flat had been in mum's name, and a council house swap was in progress?
but dad was still hanging about, so maybe it was new girlfriend?
Then all quiet and noone ever there again for months.
Yesterday we got home to see the locks had been removed and it looked like the door had been kicked in. Someone was there last night, but today it is still like that with the door blowing in the wind and no-one about. I'm not sure if i should call the police/council? I think I'm going to see what happens over the weekend and see if I can find the caretaker for a gossip ;). (He likes a good gossip!)

(when I say no-one there, we don't see anyone coming and going, hear anyone or see the hallway light on - it is possible there have been people in ine living room with the door shut if they are being careful about their electricity?)

It is all very strange. I kind of hope that it is thge council that have taken the locks away, and that we will get some nice normal people next door again! Much as I enjoy a good gossip I'm not keen on doors being kicked in a few feet from my door !

once again thank you i think once the assessment is over and we have everything in place that things will get easier as they can increase his days or get him a playworker for the local playgroup.

On a plus side im making £54 on ebay with 2 days to go so thats a day out to see Nanny McPhee paid for! just a few more bits to sell and a few days out to arrange over the holidays :D
thanks for the popcorn advice mel i will give it another go, if all fails ill nip to the shop :D
What's for you won't go past you
  • Re biccies, they are yummy ... would be eaven nicer if I hadn't overcooked them :o (they aren't burnt, just slightly more cooked than they need to be!)

Really easy to make and only take 10 mins in the oven, so you can eat them very soon after. The quantities in the recipe don't make very many though (depending on how big cutters you use I suppose!) so you might want to double up unless you are just doing some for you and baby and daddy when he gets home. Caz/Tara/Pinkpig you would need twice the amount just to get one each I think ;)

caz, here's how I make popcorn (my mom taught me): put a smidgeon of oil in the bottom of your saucepan (your largest if making for more than 2 ppl). Put enough kernels in the pan to line the bottom, but no more. Put lid on and put on medium heat. Once the very 1st kernel pops, remove from heat for exactly 1 minute. Give the pan a good shake & return to heat. Once the popcorn starts popping properly, give the pan a good shake to move around the kernels every 10 secs or so, but DO NOT TAKE THE LID OFF. Your popcorn is done when you can count 3 seconds between pops. Don't leave it longer or it will burn!

    :)

3, DLA forms are horrid. Luckily we were given the same award again, phew!

Ladybird, I'd call the council and advise them. The last thing you want is squatters moving in!

    Caz, another (((hug)))
