However Calling all co-sleepers How do you fit baby and OH in bed with you? Is LO in the middle or the edge? What do you think about those bed side guard things? They say not for under 18 months but I'm sure C would wake if she got trapped by it. SHRUG.
...
I have a cot next to our bed with a side that can be lowered. We have to put towels between the mattress and the cot so both mattresses meet but it works and Erin starts out in the cot but when we go to bed she comes in with us and either sleeps on the side next to the cot so I don't worry about her falling out or in the middle. It's much less worrying now that she can push the covers off her face but before I was constantly worried about the covers going over her head as she's not on the pillow. When she had a cold I had her sleeping on my arm which was nice but I got a sore arm after a while!
We only have a double bed as wellIf OH wants a really good nights sleep (if he's on earlies) he goes in the spare room but that doesn't happen often.
I've never tried a guard rail but have slept in beds without anything and just made sure she didn't go near the edge or tucked the sheet under the mattress.

Oh while I remember too, any one any advice/thoughts on giving dummies? Am really in two minds atm, but T likes to suck her fingers/fist even when she isnt hungry and thought it might help her sleep at night. Want to wait till 4 weeks when BF is well established but will see nearer the time how she is.
Hi Som  Must have missed you joining the thread - glad to hear everything is going ok.
I just never got round to buying a dummy! My sis is constantly amazed that I never gave in but it wasn't that hard for me as Erin cries no where near as much as her cousin. My BIL (a dentist) says if you can manage without one then you should but it's not that bad if you do get one.

I debated whether to give Caitlyn a dummy or not. In the end I tried a couple of times but she always spat it out, even though she would sometimes suck her thumb. Now she still doesn't have a dummy and doesn't suck her thumb either. Sometimes when she wakes at night I think about giving her one but I thought well we've come this far I may aswell not bother now!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

I feel exactly the same PP! I tried a few times and Caitlyn but she just didn't want one... When I'm trying to settle her in the middle of the night I sometimes think one would work a treat, but never gone so far as to try one...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I've been giving Alfie a dummy just at this time of night as he is usually cranky now, getting tired towards the end of the day. He doesn't need it at night or at any other time. I didn't really want him to have a dummy at all but wanted to avoid him sucking his thumb as that ruined my teeth and would rather him be settled!
Gymfiend from the pg thread had her baby this morning after starting induction on Sunday! She's doing well though, as is bubs. Been to see them in the hospital and he is a cutie :A
Going back to catch up a little now.
Oh, and DH gave A another bottle of formula while I was at the hospital, and when I got home I managed to exzpress 4oz :T Yey me!! lol Mum is coming for a feed tomorrow night so A can have that instead of formula while I get some sleep0 -
Hmmm so A likes his dummy tonight but it keeps falling out - he's not spitting it out cos he cries when it's gone and wants it back. Is he sucking it wrong?! It's getting boring keeping putting it back in :rolleyes:0

K has his soother to help him fall asleep, started to use them as when he had finished his bottle he was still 'sucking' but wouldnt want the milk as he was full, but liked the sucking motion so we gave him the soother to help. now he has to help him sleep... (need to wean him off this soon)'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
