    Hey everyone

    Happy birthday GISI

Congrats to Gymfiend, wow that is one long time for baby to be born 4 days after being induced!

Can anyone remember how much milk their babies drank when they were 8 days old (I know i've asked EA this already) just Elliot is only drinking 2oz a time, and sometimes in the middle of the night he only has like 1oz and is then awake very soon again for more?

Also we tuck Elliot into his sheets and blankets, not quite swaddled but all tucked in, he can and does sometimes pull his arms out, do you think he would be more relaxed at night time if we had him wrapped in his sheet while feeding him? or do you think it would stress him out? cos sometimes he wakes up too much in the middle of the night and I it takes me hours to get him back to sleep (the last two times he's only gone back to sleep after OH has lay him on his bare chest)

I had another teary moment today :( I wish it would go away.

kindof- DD used to hate being swaddled as she liked to be able to get to her hands, so to stop her keep waking up by flinging her arms and flailing her legs, I used to roll up blankets and make a little nest around her, one under her knees keeping her legs up, and one either side under her arms, she loved it, and as she got bigger I just rolled them smaller and smaller, then took them away once she had fully unfolded iyswim.

Not sure how much milk DD had as BF but in order to get her to take more at one time, I would wind her loads in between so she could fit more in. If he was hungry hun he would eat so don't worry about that, but if it's more that you would prefer he had more so he went longer between feeds then you could try feeding him one oz, sitting him up, winding him in a few different positions then try him with a bit more, it can be a constant battle in the early days to get the milk down their necks.

Take care chick, hope you feel better soon. x

Toby took 60ml at a time until he was quite a lot older than Elliot, slowly increasing to 120ml per feed at 8.5 weeks old. For various reasons, I was happier the smaller and more frequently he fed.

i know exactly what you mean maz about the toilet training!
Katie is pretty much fully there, except at night times, but a couple days last week, (in the evenings) she had accidents - but i dont think they were actual accidents if u get me!?? She was watching "Up", and i tink she just got engrossed, but then she proceeded to do it another 3 times before bed that night! i was very frustrated, and it is so hard not to shout or tell off.
I started making more of a fuss about her using the potty/toilet again and she seemed to go back without accidents fine then....who knows what goes through their little mind!!

You will feel better soon. It's still very early days and the hormones are still running rampant round your body.

H never liked being swaddled but I'd say give it a try on Elliot. You won't know whether he loves it or hates it unless you do.

On the milk q, I'm not sure how much H was taking at that age, but they do only have teeny tummies still so do need to feed little and often. Have you tried waking him up a bit after he's had 1oz, maybe change his nappy or something, then try him with the other oz? It's hard cos you don't want to wake them so much that they're hard to put back down, but you do want them to have enough milk. I found it's a bit trial and error until you find what works for you.

    Carla-yay for lumps!

csh- sorry your manager is being a pita at the moment. It's hard, isn't it. I asked my manager if there were any other managers in our company who worked part time and she said she'd never known of any, but that doesn't mean that I can't so I am still hopeful.

Sorry I should have said Elliot loves being tucked in, cos he was swaddled in SCBU. I just wondered if we kept him tucked in a blanket at night while feeding if it would help him realise its sleep time?

Ah well ok cool 2oz isnt bad then :)

I just get confused that he can easily eat 2oz at each feed during the day but come night time he only has 1oz lol

I never took H out of the swaddle during night feeds but it still took him a little while to know what was night and day. He still was very unsettled until recently when we put him in a sleeping bag and now he only wake once in the night which is great as i lost count how many times he would wake.
Ds1 hated a sleeping bag or any blanket on him at all. When he was old enough he would always work his way out of his clothes completely and he would often take his nappy off too lol.
