I either pop them in a jug of hot water or pop them in the microwave. If you heat in micro, take the top off and unscrew teat bit so you are just putting the actual bottle in.
How long it takes to heat them will depend on the temperature of the milk to start with and the amount of milk in the bottle.

If I am heating a 7oz bottle from the fridge it needs a minute in the micro but today I reheated 3ozs of room temp so gave it 20secs.

Just test it on your wrist or back of your hand - if it's too hot run it under the cold tap for a bit. :)

KOAG - I also used to make up the days worth of bottles, stick them in a sink full of cold water to cool them quickl and then put them in the fridge. I heated them in a jug until K was about 2-3mths old, then just used the microwave ever since.
I will do exactly the same for the new baby too:)

My sister's friend used to make up the days bottles and leave them on the kitchen worktop all day!!!! Baby was fine though, never had any problems.

Happy birthday lovely Weezl :) especially lovely as it turns out you are slightly older than me :D briefly I feel youthful again! Hope you had a lovely day and the tiny creatures were kind to you.
Links on front page are good Sami! One quite common question I guess is the "what shall I pack for hospital" question, worth a link to the thread's answer from a while back? *shrug* no other ideas :)
  • Hey all,
Day four of motherhood and I am feeling the burn for sure. We went to my parents house for the day which was lovely as I can relax there but at the same time be out the house, if that makes sense. However.........
OH's mum and little sister invited themselves round which is annoying in the first place and then told OH he has to phone his grandparents and tell them the baby is here and then take her over. OH said no because she was supposed to phone everyone on his side of the family for us but she has had a falling out with them and "forgot". These are the grandparents I have never met in 5 years of dating OH and he has only met maybe 5 times. Why should I make an effort when they are never going to??? I can't see them being in her life as she grows, thankfully she has lots of wonderfull people to fill her life with as she grows.

I'm having some major thoughts about just giving up on breast feeding, she will now flatly refuse the boobs and as my milk has come in I am soooo swollen and sore and leaking like a rusty bucket. I am exhausted though, and fighting a really horrible infection and am on several anti-bs and pain killers which I dont really want to move across to her. How long till it stops hurting and swelling goes down?
She is also going slightly yellow so lots of sleeping in the window for her tomorrow lets hope the weather is reasonably sunny.
