i vote the silvercross pop, im thinking of getting one myself, i had a look at one in mothercare today i like how the bottom of the seat kind of reclines so they can have their feet up, looks comfy!

hugs to the new mummies, sorry have no advise of bf but hope it works out for you all, kind of theres a few diff ways of making bottles up, and ive always ignored the side of the tin where it guides how much they should be drinking cos its never right in my experience! i used to make the bottles up with boiling water, add formula then cool quickly in a sink of cold water then put in the fridge, then zap in microwave and shake!! but this isnt the 'advised' method but my babies never suffered, infact when i first had jake i was really clueless and did loads of stuff wrong, but you learn as you go along xx

gisi did you end up going to pixi foto? jasmine had hers today, i just chose the free one, there were a couple of nice ones but too expensive,

had a well busy day today, gonna be ready for bed soon i think!

aww obem, think itl be a teary one tonight:(

Yep, we had the photos taken last week. I saw them on screen and some of them were stunning. He took a lovely one of me and H, which I will buy. I'll probably also get a couple of the other poses. I have to go in next week to view them all and pick which ones I want. They are expensive though- he said £50 for the first pose then £15 a pose after that .

I'm not watching OBEM this week. I just know it'll make me cry, a lot.

oh its slighty diff prices to the one i went to, it was just a flat £30 per extra 8by10 pic, would probably work out cheaper the way yours does it if you buy a few!

gisi I thought the same the first time I looked at it :o shh

elle - I'm not sure you should watch OBEM tonight, I'm not sure I should be either atm!

Fishcake the best advice I can give is to get in a nice warm bath, either make it nice n deep so your boobies are in the water or take 2 flannels in to dip in the water and pop on them, this will set them of leaking and make you more comfortable - ahhh blissful, non hard boobies, relaxing bath, peace and quiet  when you are at that point close one's eyes and think long and hard about what BFing means to you and decide do you want to try throw everything at it and try super hard to make it work or are you happy to stop now and switch to formula.
When you decide come back here and we'll either tell you what to do/where to go to find BF/pumping help or we'll tell you what you need and how to formula feed.

The reason I say this is if we all say just FF it's fine (which it is) yadda yadda but it's not really what you want it's not actually going to help because you'll be stuck with the guilt that takes a lot of working to get rid off.
Much love to you honey :) x

OK, I'm back. Typical that the phone goes just as I made my big return :D

Everything is good at Chez Choppy, thank you for asking. We have been really busy over the past few weeks but I feel like I'm a bit more on top of things now so have a little bit more free time.

Caitlin's Christening went smoothly and she was very well behaved. She just looked bemused when the water was put on her head and was more interested in peering into the font than what was actually going on!

My sister's situation is improving a bit - locks have been changed and ex hasn't been anywhere near her as such, although he saw her driving the other day and decided to cut her up, which was charming. The house is on the market and has had several viewings but only one offer. It was too low so my sis refused it. On the plus side, one of her workmates is moving in this week and paying her £70 rent per week, so that will help her out until she can sell the house.

We've accidently managed to sell our house :o. We got an estate agent round to value it, just to see if we had enough equity to afford to move. However, because the type of house we would like doesn't come on to the market very often, we decided we wouldn't put ours on the market (and pay for a HIP etc) until we found somewhere we liked. The estate agent kept ringing me about this family who he said "would be your perfect buyers" so we gave in and said we'd let them bring one viewer round and that was it. This buyer came round on the Friday night and by the Monday evening offered us the asking price! Although apparently they're not in any hurry to move, we can't find anywhere we like enough to view yet, so we can see everything falling through. We won't be too heartbroken if it does as we do like our house, it's just we'd like to live in a more rural location and if the first person to see it offers us the asking price, then hopefully if it does fall through and we do actually end up putting it on the market, there will be other interest.

I've done a couple of KIT days, which are going OK. When I'm at work, I'm generally OK, it's just the thought of actually going that I don't like. Today, I put a photo of Caitlin as my desktop but then got sad that I wasn't with her, so replaced it with a standard Windows desktop picture.

My maternity leave officially ends this weekend (Caitlin is 9 months old on Sunday - where did that time go?!?), then got three weeks of annual leave, before starting back. Whilst I'm on annual leave, I'm doing two days work, so on those days will actually be getting paid double (once for holiday and once for working) which will be nice.

So, that's my news. I know I have missed loads of news on here. I've seen some bits on FaceBook (like Poppie's news, Kester's birth, SM being back at work and MFD being on holibobs) but I bet there's lots that I don't know.

I know I've missed several first birthdays - Seth, Kai, Benjamin, Fergie and AF's little one (I think I might have missed another one too, but can't for the life of me think who :o), so a belated happy birthday to all of you :bdaycake:

I also see that there are a few new faces - CONGRATULATIONS to all the new mummies. I remember EA from the pregnancy thread, but everyone else is a new name, so hello

This is a bit of an epic message, so will post it now before I do something stupid and end up losing it!!!

    xxx

I'm just reading back a bit and have seen the posts about Pixi-Photo.

Ours is inside Mothercare and they charge £12 for an 8x10 photo or for two 7x5 photos (although the 7x5 ones have to be the same pose). Are they franchises? Maybe that's why the prices vary so much <would insert confused smiley here if there was one>

I either pop them in a jug of hot water or pop them in the microwave. If you heat in micro, take the top off and unscrew teat bit so you are just putting the actual bottle in.
How long it takes to heat them will depend on the temperature of the milk to start with and the amount of milk in the bottle.

If I am heating a 7oz bottle from the fridge it needs a minute in the micro but today I reheated 3ozs of room temp so gave it 20secs.

Just test it on your wrist or back of your hand - if it's too hot run it under the cold tap for a bit. :)

    Ok thanks guys :)

they must be cos theres quite a difference, £12 seems very reasonable!! yeh the one i went to today you could get 2 7by5s, but that was £30 and had to be the same pic, which is quite annoying, would be helpful if you could have diff pics, do you get one free pic per sitting with yours?
