I went for a bit of a snooze.

My news, we have totally went and changed our mind regarding the house situation. Spoke to the mortgage advisor and while we could move, we are actually on a pretty amazing deal right now. Our old mortgage company was bought by a different one, one of these ones who just buy up companies when they are going bust. The fixed rate we were on has run out so our rate is 2.81% and pretty much unbeatable. But the company won't loan us more because they want rid o us to get their money back. So financially we would be far better off staying put and taking a loan out to convert the loft, even if adds no value to the house, by the time the loan has been cleared, the mortgage balance will have dropped anyway (if you get me). We should go back to look for a different deal when the rate rises again, but for now, we are exceptionally lucky to have a low rate and should just stay put, ideally we should pay extra the mortgage just now.

I think it is time to sit down, grow up a bit and make up a 10 year plan to become mortgage free, maybe a 15 year plan to budget for loft conversion, driveway and possibly a new kitchen.

I'm just a regular fickle mind changer eh?

I need to do the dishes, hoover, put socks away, put clothes away and iron some stuff. (if I say the socks are sperate from the other clothes it makes it to 5 things, well it is a large trugg bucket full of paired socks!)

I am dreading remortgaging - our fixed rate ends in June. Apparently as I'm on mat leave they will only take into account my SMP and not my full wage which is 4 times my SMP and also OH is now earning £7k less than when we took mortgage out.

might have to sell up & rent again - which might not be a bad thing as I reckon we'd get a decent price for this place plus renting would be cheaper which would be better if OH ends up doing a GTP course!

Is it bad that it was Mother's Day yesterday and today, when my mum came to collect Alex before I went to work, I presented her with a large box of clothes for her to iron for me :o.

I did do some on Saturday morning (started at 7.15 am), but still had loads to get through, she keeps telling me she will do some, bet she's regretting it now though.

I love my mum, she is fantastic.
