Elijah didn't reach 16.5lbs til 9 months if I remember correctly! So you're doing fine :p

Thanks for congrats Tara :) v early days still.

Sorry for worm-can-poking - this being talkative lark has its pitfalls I see. Personally I a) pay loads of tax b) wish I earned more  !

Doctor's tomorrow for OH's first pg appointment and also having E's cheek looked at - what has always seemed like "very rosy cheeks" may possibly be some sort of eczema or similar, it's got more intense in the last couple of weeks and feels rough and stuff now :( hopefully easily treated!
Caitlyn was about 9m when she hit 16lb too... :D

Hope all goes well for Mrs M tomorrow, and E's rosy cheeks... Have you tried introducing a moisturising routine? ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I hate the benefits system in this country. Where is the reward for working up from the bottom, paying to put yourself through univesity, doing ridiculous hours to get on and prove yourself. The reward is they take more and you're entitled to diddly squat. Work less and they just top it up. What's the point? You don't have enough, get another job. Why should you have some of mine. My opinion, and like it or lump it, and I'm not sorry!

SM wouldn't you get your fees paid? Cos i would, being on a low income and all..

(i did a ECDL course a couple of years ago that was funded)

i did that course too! forgot most of it now like lol, i got it free and the qualifying benefits to get courses free were, wtc and housing benefit, i got wtc at the time.

I plan to go to college in sept, am hoping to do either teaching assistant or access to teaching and go to uni. I am majorly skint at the mo but i tell myself its only temporary, and hold on to the hope that after ive gone back to college and got myself a career i'll be able to buy a house, and finances will be more stable ect.

Ta hun. They're sat in the washing machine, along with the highchair straps, waiting for you especially to reply! ;):p:o Will go switch it on now then

Yay for MFD and Mr SS :D
You should have txt me for a quick response ;)
Did you call TC Sami? I did skim back but couldn't see :o

Well done on the job MFD :j:j:beer:

Well done to SS hubby :j:j

I probably won't even renew TC this year, they make you jump through hoops and I always fret that they have got it wrong. Paying back that 2 and a half k was a sickener!! I know I was in the right though, but hey ho, teaches you a lesson not to believe them :rotfl:If we weren't claiming the measly 10 quid a week, would Idris' tax allowance not be down £333 a year? Because if so, then I'll just be chucking forms in the bin, as it works out the same give or take a hundred quid, and for 2 hundred quid a year I'd gladly be shot of them losers!!
I'm calling 2mo, gotta get the paperwork at the ready
I just don't get it, I wish I knew how it was worked out because I'd have worked out for myself and would know it was wrong from the start!

Lesson learnt though, I'm sending the renewal form and taking a photocopy of it, noting down any calls I have to make etc

my biggest worry is that we've been getting almost £350pm in WTC and the calculator says we're not entitled to any WTC ???
looks like they are gonna introduce a web thing for it, wish they'd bl00dy hurry up then I can do it myself and know it's correct seeing as the monkeys they employ clearly cant manage to tick a box!!!

Any time salarys/houses/cars are mentioned theres always a comment about *wishing* or *dreaming* about having it.
I didn't wish or dream for what I have, I worked for it. I'm sick of feeling like I have to justify it.

I agree, to an extent. I worked my butt off to get where I am, and for the most part I'm happy, and we're comfortable. I'm incredibly appreciative of what I have and of the opportunities that allowed me to get to this point, and proud of myself for having been able to achieve the things I have. I still have dreams and wishes though.

What annoys me isn't when other people dream of stuff or wish they had it, it's when they wish for stuff that could be within their reach but won't actually take the step and reach out for it. It's the most frustrating thing about my job. This doesn't apply to even half the patients I deal with, but enough that it is a significant problem, and I see it outside of work too. If you wish for something, work out how to get there and try your best.

Workers always need tea Beenie ;)

I'd love to go back into catering. I did that for over 6 years and loved every minute. Although not exactly ever gonna get me earning big bucks!!

I left cos i was bored and tried dental nursing. And omg that was a nightmare. I was leaving the house at 6:40am, to get bus to mothers for DS, bus to town then bus to surgery. Wokring 8-6 and after lots of buses i finally got home with DS at about 8pm. I was determined to do it but just wasn't possible to keep that up, i only managed it for about a month or so :(

Went into admin after that and it was a small family setup and i hated every minute of it cos they were soooo snooty and made the few non family members feel like crap all the time! I was quite relieved when they made me redundant lol!!
  • I am a perfect caring mortgage advisor that is there to help :A

Hes doing good ta hun. I am having to rearrange all his appointments for next week as I am now going to have to be away !! We are waiting on his eye appointment, but the lady has retired, so they are waiting on a locum !!

    Hows Benjamins head ??

Aw he is fine!! He has a bruise, a bit of a graze and a lump but his CM took it as an opportunity to cuddle him all the way through his nap this morning (he hasn't had a morning nap for the last week or 2). When I picked him up I said 'oops, bump-ee head' and he kept hitting himself and me on the head to demonstrate :rotfl:
mfd im not sure but college isnt an option til i save to pay for it x

How do you know you need to go to college until you know what you want to do? Loads of jobs don't need college...

I looked into youth or drugs support work a while ago and (for youth support at least) wanted you to start with voluntary positions which were evening and weekend, while studying.

I know once you're qualified then it's more stable and family friendly but it's the training where you've gotta be flexible and with no family to call upon that's impossible at the mo so i'll probably resign myself to being a tea maker in an office for the rest of my life lol :D

Have you tried talking to the Salvation Army? I have a friend who is doing some kind of drug dependency and counselling training and working with the Sally Army doing drop in clinic a couple of days a week. Not sure if something like that would be of interest?
