Thanks for the hugs. Have been expecting it after I was told not to bother picking up my laptop when I went back (delayed my ML for them for two weeks but getting paid full at mo til it's all sorted) but it's still a nightmare. Just trying to find out if they are allowed to do/say what they have done! We'll survive though - last time I got made redundant it was a week after I signed for this house!!

Huge gentle hugs for all the poorly little ones (and grown up ones)

Yay for Kian's tooth (if I've remembered right) - no sign at all of C's yet so think it'll be a while.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the bits of sunshine we've had xxx

Sorry about your news Jam. My understanding of the law is that they cannot choose you for redundancy just because you are on maternity leave. They can make your actual job redundant, but if they do that then they need to consider whether there is another role you can do in the company before letting you go. In your case, the job itself isn't redundant just being split amongst 3 other workers, and I think they should have considered which of the 4 of you should have been made redundant based on objective criteria not including the fact you've just been off on maternity leave, and followed all correct procedures. I'd contact ACAS for specific advice if I were you. Hope this helps

Beenie, the microphone is a teether but it's also supposed to say, Sing it baby! and Babadoowaaaa depending on the mode, when the baby bends it towards them. Having said that, the microphone was the first of our bits to break. Lovely picture, her eyes are fabulous.

the m'icrophone when pulled towards maber should sing 'sing it baby' or 'bop a do wah' dependign on what 'page' its at. the disco ball presses down/up and spins round. kian loves watching the walls when the sun catches it.
the microphone is also a teether. :)

    any other q's just ask.
kian was in his at 3 1/2months

Ahh well in that case our microphone definitely doesn't work :( The disco ball works though :D

beenie - she looks like she's really lovin her L&G am so tempted to keep an eye out for one after all the recomendations on here but no idea where we would put it!

I have no space either and it's gonna get worse when i get the highchair out, it's one of those high and low Hauck ones (still have it from DS) so doesn't fold up very small.

GISI, Henry is so cute in that photo! I just did the maths because it freaked me out that he's eating food when Finn's only 1 month younger, eek! I haven't even remotely given any thought to weaning :o
I've gave Amber a lick of mash and gravy the other day. Not enough to need to swallow it. She wasn't impressed and spat at me :rotfl: I started giving DS baby rice about now (3.5m)
Beenie, so cute! I'm jealous of everyone's L&G but no one we could afford one right now and he's got his playgym which he seems happy enough with so far...maybe one day.
There's no way i could have allowed myself to spend that much on one tbh. They're good but not MSE.

    Scruffy - aww cute :D:D

    GISI love that pic!

Jam that's rubbish news, did you know it was coming or has it come out of the blue?? (edit - never mind just seen your post)

    Thanks Nicki

Someone on the other thread has said very similar. I didn't know they could split your job and get rid of you! I never thought about if I could do what the three have been doing my job do (if that makes sense) but they are all on about 10K less than me soI suppose it makes sense I go. Also, I don't know how to do the tech side of what they do (although it would only take me an hour to learn - it's not hard).

Now I know it's all above board, it's just a case of onwards and upwards. Your post made me think about it in a different way though - I'd have never thought about one of the 4 of us going.

    xxx

    C awakes - didn't last long did it?? :-)

Not anymore :( They stopped just as we were wanting the finishing touches for the house last year.
  • Sorry Sami, I did see! Umm, the only place I know you can buy them is in store although I'm sure loads come up on eBay. You should ask at your local one cos if they're anything like my store they will have a stack of previous CDs in the office! If I was at work I would try and track one down for you.

Ooooh I forgot to say earlier, the garage bloke came to collect our broken car today:), just as he arrived and dh went off to lead him the way to where it was abandoned, the post came. The booking confirmation for our Lodge was amonst the letters (in dh's name) so I opened it to check it was all right and he has only gone and booked the Champagne and Chocolate package as a surprise for me....well it must be a surprise because he hasn't mentioned it. I realised that maybe I shouldn't have opened it and pritt sticked the envelope closed:o, which thankfully dried before he got back!!!!

I gave it him all innocent like, and after he had opened it I enquired as to whether it all look right and as it should.....he just said yep, perfect. Still mentioned nothing about the little extra, so now I will have to be all surprised when we get there.....

This probably seems trivial to some of you who have lovely romantic husbands/partners, but this is the first time he has done anything like this in the last (maybe) 9yrs+:(
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
