hi all,
hope you all had a good Easter.
not catching up as missed way too much! Evie got a sheep teddy from my sister & nieces for Easter but nothing else. Me and OH got each other eggs (well, we picked them in tesco and put them in trolley but OH paid when we got to till so technically he got mine & one for himself!) :rotfl:
Evie seems to have developed a wind problem in last couple of weeks. she's goes to bed fine as normal but will not let me put her back after her feed in night otherwise she just cries and wriggles round like mad. but you can tell she just wants to sleep bless her cos she fights to keep her eyes shut. :embarasse
The other day I had loads of fruit after lunch - 2 pears, 2 plums and 4 satsumas  - and she was up in tears from 9pm when she'd normally go to bed til midnight. I felt so guilty cos it had affected me about an hour after i'd had it so i knew i'd probably pass it to her later but i had no choice but to feed her!

Oh, and she's still not going down properly for nap in day. She fights it for hours so when she does go I don't risk putting her down most of time cos i know she wakes up within 2 mins of putting her down, but it's getting so frustrating! any ideas??
OH is at work til half 4 and weather's been miserable here so we've just stayed in. And I made curried veg soup and a chocolate fudge cake instead of doing the housework! :j
Anyone been watch Masterchef?

What's for you won't go past you0 -
maz have you wrapped her up nice and tight when she goes down? will she sleep on you??? remember its ok to let her cry sometimes even though its hard at the time! i know the feeling of being fed up and stuck in, yet again my darling children have moaned until i have let them out when i was planning on nipping to the town?
can i ask for the recipe for your soup pleaseWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
... He's learnt to pull the dummy out of his mouth to replace it with his thumb now, so not sure how I'm gonna knock that on the head
My BIL dentist reckons thumb is better than dummy.
Thanks for the replies this morning, OH has gone to work but is off tomorrow so I will make him go to the docs.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

I heard that dummy is better than thumb because if they suck a thumb it's harder to get them to stop as it's attached to them and they can do it forever (i still suck my thumb - 10 years of braces
)
Took Keira out for lunch with my friend, she said she wanted pasta. Did she eat it? NO! because there was herbs on it.......what a waste!0 -
Boo to bad OH's.
My OH used to get up in night when he was off work but i just let him sleep now. her cries/moans don't wake him and i just think there's no point us both being awake when i can deal with it and i need to be up to feed her anyway. it means he's fine getting up for work, and he does appreciate that i don't wake him when i easily could. and that gives me the leverage to use if necessary to get him to take her out to give me a break or just downstairs while i nap. :T
So it makes me look like a lovely girlfriend when i really have an ulterior motive :rotfl: :rotfl:
Think i'd feel guilty asking for him to give me extra sleep or breaks while he looked after LO if he was going out to work and getting up in the night too.:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0 -
I remember Sami saying something about thumb sucking. Is it something to do with the thumb pushing up against the roof of the mouth?A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
My cousin has awful sticky out teeth due to thumb sucking...she is 21 now and is still caught with her thumb in her mouth sometimes, she doesn't even realise she is doing it...Give me a dummy anyday, you can't exactly chop their thumbs off when you get sick of em sucking.
I 'try' and limit K's dummy to sleeping or whinging times, if he is happy just playing etc then I keep it up on the fireplace...of course sometimes I forget and he is crawling/walking round with it for half the day:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

She hates being wrapped up. She'll even do anything to fight her way out of her towel after bath, even if it means she gets cold!
she will sleep on me for half an hour or so if she falls asleep after eating, but her day sleep is getting lighter so any movements i make can disturb her so then i'm stuck!
i did leave her in her cosy and let her scream for a bit earlier while i put my cake in the oven & tidied up cos i'd been trying to battle with her to get her to sleep for ages and she was having none of it.
for the soup i just fry some onions and garlic til soft then add veg (broccoli, cauliflower & carrots this time) and mix in lots of curry powder, then add some veg stock and boil til veg goes soft, adding more water every so often. then mixed in a tin of tomatoes and blended it cos i like smooth soups.
i put a bit too much curry powder in when i tasted it tho so mixed in some milk too. i'm kind of an experimental cook, especially when it comes to soup!
not tried it with tomatoes before and it's nice but i think i may prefer it without. just cauliflower is nice (same but without broccoli, carrot or tomato, and with milk) but my favourite is curried parsnip soup cos thats really creamy anyway and is gorgeous with cream in. only problem is OH doesn't like parsnip & i always think i might as well make something we'll both like:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0
