I think I saw the midwife on the day after coming home with my two, and one of the GP's popped out within a couple of days too.
Glad to hear you're coping alright. I've had 2 general anaesthetics to have my appendix out and to have a laparoscopy. Both times I came out badly with loads of vomiting and dizziness afterwards. I'm terrified of having a c-section in case I'm too poorly to look after baby. I couldn't do a one where you're awake either as I'm far too squeamish for thatHere I go again on my own....0 -
Big hugs to you caleo. Take it easy :grouphug: (it's a hug in this case, honestly - nothing to do with ttc!! )
Huge congratulations Sazere. Great news.
Good luck TazandTommyCould you do with a Money Makeover?

caleo wrote:Not at all Sarah, it is just so if people want to talk to others going through the same, they know who to talk to. Just a little support!

Thanks Caleo, you puy eactly what I was thinking but couldn't phrase.
Having someone who you "don't know" can mean you can support each other without the pressure that telling friends and family would bring.0 -
Caleo, i'm sorry to hear your news, you must be gutted and upset. Life is cruel. Take comfort in it wasn't meant to be for whatever reason and hopefully the next one will be. Well done for expressing to eloquently your thoughts to Sarahsaver. Like Welshlassie, I knew what the TTC was for but couldn't phrase it as well.
Big hugs and I hope it happens for you soon.0 -
Congrats to those just found out they are pregnant and to Sazere on your daughter. I'm not surprised you feel sore after your fourth section. In our antenatal class this week, we were told they only recommend you have up to 3 sections and leave it two years in between babies. They get a bit twitchy after 3 in case the scar tissue ruptures during pregnancy. Obviously you had no problems with this but were you told the same or does it vary from authority to authority?
Oueyouey, I can't answer your bra question but had been wondering similar myself. I was planning on getting bras in two different sizes around 36/37 weeks as I don't live near big shops and want to try them on for size. I can then return/or get DF to return the ones I don't need. As advised by the M&S lady last time I was in there.0 -
I'm wondering if anyone can give me a little bit of reassurance. I had thought that we had a problem with conceiving as we'd been trying for ages and we were about to arrange a doctors visit for us both to talk about fertility tests.. Over the last month I have had two close friends birthdays where I went out and got very drunk and and also smoked a fair bit, including cannabis. I feel really stupid now and realise it was very irresponsible. The last time was just over a week ago, when I was convinced that my mood swings and sore boobs meant I was due on my period soon, as that's how I usually feel then. I realise that all I can do now is focus on being as healthy as I can from now on and worrying about it isn't much use, but has anyone else had similar worries but everything worked out okay?“We all pay for life with death, so everything in between should be free.”0

You would have ovulated about 14 days before your period was due and the egg would have been fertilised shortly afterwards. It takes about a week for the ball of cells to grow and become embeded in your womb lining. By the time your period is due, the placenta is forming and the baby is attached to your body.
If you've just discovered you are pregnant, I would say there is a good chance that baby was just a floating ball of cells while you were partying, so nothing will have passed to him/her.
Take care from now on though and no more cannabis! Also be aware of people smoking around you, as you can inhale their fumes and pass them onto baby.
Do mention it to your midwife on your booking in visit and she will put your mind at rest.
My friend discovered she was pregnant during an all inclusive holiday we were on. She'd really been making the most of the unlimited alcohol before finding out and was concerned about the baby, but she went on to deliver a perfect and healthy little girl.
Where abouts in the North East are you? Just being nosey as I'm near Chester le Street! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Its a horrible feeling when you find out you're pregnant and then you realise you've been getting up to all sorts - I got drunk on my birthday, then found out the next day that I was expecting - eek! And the pregnancy before, I had been indulging in the Xmas spirit in the few days before finding out! All you can do is just put it behind you, stop feeling guilty, and concentrate on being as healthy as possible for the rest of your pregnancy. In the vast, VAST majority of cases, there will be no ill effects on the baby, so try not to worry too much xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Turns out that someone crashed into the back of my car when I didn't realise I was pregnant. Still makes me and my partner cringe when we think about it....especially as the doctor asked if I was pregnant. I of course said no....I'd only just had a 'period' a week or so before.
Now I'm at 35 weeks and starting to get those old first timer fears of labour, can I do it etc... All you can do is to make sure you do things the best you can now that you do know. Trust your instincts. Trust your doctors / midwives. You'll be fine.
In fact sometimes I wish the little monster would just stay still and give me some peace for a change. Before long you'll be wishing that you had your old body back again too.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
