i'll just take myself off the edd list again, he's snoring on my lap, so i know i've had him! [and just coz i'm feeling smug, i have to tell EVERYONE he's started sleeping through the night :D ]...

Congratulations, thought you were a long way overdue! :p
Any horror stories to tell on the best kept secrets thread?
  • With regard to the smell of new furniture, I had a couple of freebie packs of bounce tumble dry sheets and put them in some of my baby's drawers (they weren't new so I wanted to freshen them up). Now when I open the drawers the insides smell of washing. Plus its a good way to use the sheets as I don't have a tumble dryer!

My nephew was 'calm'....until he worked out how to get around. Now we're all wondering at times whether he belongs in a looney bin. Great fun to be around him though...never a dull moment.

  • I have my 20 week scan on Thursday and although ideally it would be nice to wait until the birth I'm just too impatient and want to know! Also, it would be great to get some bargains in the sales ;) We already have a boy and a girl so no preference at all. I have a feeling it's a boy though, no idea why except I'm drawn to the boys baby clothes in shops, they're just so cute!

Anyone else intend finding out the sex?

Been lurking on this thread for a couple of weeks but officially gatecrashing now as a TTC :)
May take a while as I'm getting on a bit, however that's not necessarily a bad thing since we're due to go to Egypt in Jan/Feb for my 40th and I don't want the dilemma of whether or not to cancel it!
Despite being an avid moneysaving wannabe, we've a long way to go to clear various debts, however if I keep using that as an excuse we'll never have offspring...the thought of several months off work without my salary to keep us afloat (am earning around 3 times my OH's wage) has been terrifying, but have just found out our company maternity payment is 100% for 14 weeks which is great compared to most places. No wonder they keep it under their hats :)

Anyway, enjoying reading all of this in the meantime, keep me sane and stop me spending :)

    Hi Douggie!!

I haven't been on here for a while and have just been catching up on the posts. I am also on the ttc list, and an older mommy--yes, even older than you;) !! I had my last baby Dec 10th, and am now ttc again. Last was a wonderful surprise, so quite a shock! I am hoping it will be as easy this time!!

I have to say I had all the odds against me, 40, fibroids and contraception....and she arrived!!

Good luck and keep us posted!

  • I'm still on the TTC list although I have a questoin which might mean I am now on the EDD list.

How soon does morning sickness arrive? I'm not due on until next Tuesday but Monday and today I've felt really rough and sicky, I'm not usually a sicky person, so am wondering if this is it (fingers and toes crossed). I haven't taken a test as yet obviously because I'm not due until next week it would probably be negative even if I was pg. Any thoughts??

Morning sickness can start before you miss you period - and i know how you feel - nothing better then waking up in the morning and wanting to braf!! :(

It does seem a little bit early as the usual time for it to start is about 6 weeks after first day of last period - although there are always exceptions of course. NHS direct has quite a lot of info.
Fingers crossed this is it for you :j
