My urine has been sent off for analysis and I have to return tomorrow - although they don't think that the test results will be back. Last week they did a blood test to test my liver function which can can give an indication of Pre-eclampsia and this has returned fine.

I am sick of the headaches and don't know what to do. I don't like the idea of taking paracetamol, but the midwife assures me it won't harm the baby. My care is midwife led and I won't visit the hospital until I am in labour. Anyone got any advice as to what to do?

Sorry, no advice as such, but paracetemol is really very safe to take. Have you tried 4head - It doesn't really work for me, but I know friends who swear by it. If you have any worries, keep contacting your midwife - which is easy for me to say I know. I have acupuncture at my local hospital by a midwife for heartburn, headaches and backache - is this something your hospital offers?

They were offered for sale on Monday 11th september - some shops may still have them, but you'd have to check. It's always worth checking on ebay etc for some too.

Been lurking on this thread for a couple of weeks but officially gatecrashing now as a TTC
May take a while as I'm getting on a bit, however that's not necessarily a bad thing since we're due to go to Egypt in Jan/Feb for my 40th and I don't want the dilemma of whether or not to cancel it!
Despite being an avid moneysaving wannabe, we've a long way to go to clear various debts, however if I keep using that as an excuse we'll never have offspring...the thought of several months off work without my salary to keep us afloat (am earning around 3 times my OH's wage) has been terrifying, but have just found out our company maternity payment is 100% for 14 weeks which is great compared to most places. No wonder they keep it under their hats

Anyway, enjoying reading all of this in the meantime, keep me sane and stop me spending

100% for 14 weeks is excellent. I get 90% for 6 weeks.

Is this your first child? My cousin had a baby last year at 40 she thought it would take forever to concieve but she got pregnant straight away the doctor told her that she got pregnant straight away with her first 3 children so why should this time be any different.

Had my first scan - it was incredible! I cried when I saw the heartbeat, just so precious! Pic is below, I'm such a proud mummy now! Showing everyone... Estimated due date has been moved forward to 22nd March.

Most definitely a first for me. I told the world when I was about 9 or 10 that I was never having kids. 30 years of stubbornness has just gone out the window thanks to my wonderful body clock Just means I've got a lot of catching up to do on all the reading and general baby gossip stuff that I've ignored up until now....
