I had a horrible first 12 weeks this time round, having escaped the dreaded morning sickness with my first daughter. This time I also had a horrible flu type virus to coincide with the nausea which wiped me out for about a fortnight, which my daughter also caught, so I was trying to look after her at the same time as feeling like death myself.

I also totally, and I mean TOTALLY, lost my appetite and could barely force anything down me - eating didn't make me feel any better. Eventually I found that I could only stomach eating ham and tomato baguettes (??) so ate them every day for about 3 weeks until I started to feel normal again!! If you are in a similar situation, I recommend trying to find one thing that you can face and just stick to that - it might not be the most nutritious diet in the world, but it will get you through the worst bit.

And just for reassurance for anyone in the same boat, once I got past 12 weeks the sickness totally vanished and the appetite came back with a vengeance!!! It feels like an eternity when you are feeling dreadful 24/7, but for most people it really is only a temporary stage.

Just to add, I think you'll find that this is a bug - there's lots going round at the minute - daughter just had a nasty one. Early stages of pregnancy your resistance to germs is low and you can pick these things up easily. Once you get that out of your system, you might find the sickness eases up a bit too.

I've only just noticed that there is a pregnany bit.....:( My first baby is 17 weeks now, and I do miss being pregnant Good luck everyone

Pram has turned up at OH's works. I'm not going to be able to have a play until tonight, but it sounds like it'll do the job nicely. Paid £60 for it....and sounds like we may have ended up with the £100 version (thanks kiddicare). If so I'm certainly not going to complain.

Purposefully went for one without a c!!!!at....hate seeing babies being pushed around crammed into tiny c!!!!ats because people can't be bothered to use the chair / pram bit.

I just want to play with it now....have to wait though...patience is a virtue and all that.
